Looks can be deceiving. Looks like every taco shop in San Diego. Most taco shops are basically good with some being better than others. This one however has little good about it. The cost: average cost for a taco shop so that's good for a food court. The food: Carne asada fries- cold, undercooked fries. The meat was actually really, really good though and the portion was huge. Service: the cook is overworked and took 15+ minutes for the order and it was undercooked. He seemed bothered answering questions of how much longer.
Not a fan of their burritos . Simply had no flavor especially in the Cabeza burrito, I bite into it and it was soggy like the sauce was just too much that the tortilla wasn't holding together everytime I tried to bite it, I was also disappointed with their surf and turf burrito that's at 14 something, my husband and I took one bite and that was it...waste of my money's. People simply just don't have any love in cooking and making them the right way.. Sorry but not so sorry .... The only enjoyment I got was the carne asada fries and that's that...will not be ordering again
I was pleasantly surprised that this was good whenever you order food from a place you've never been it's a little freighting . Luckily the california burrito I ordered through Uber eats showed up tasty nicely cooked and season carne asada even though it didn't come with guacamole like.most Cali's it was solid. Their red salsa was a good combo of spice and flavor. Good to know theirs good Mexican food inside grossmont center
Absolutely delicious!! I got the California burrito and my wife got Carne Asada fries. Friendly service with a smile and the food was amazing. I'd give it 6 stars if could!
Located inside the Grossmont Mall food court. On this particular day, all three vegan eateries were closed that I wanted to try. So we went for Mexican at Villas. My boyfriend likes regular ground beef tacos and surprisingly not many places offer that except for like, Taco Bell. Meanwhile, I love flautas and very few places offer that. I alway joked, only authentic places offer flautas. Well, Villas made us both happy when they offer both! Got chicken flautas and it came with 2 giant roll size. Topped with cheese and sour cream, lettuce, and guacamole on the side. The outer shell was deep fried to perfect that’s crispy and crunchy with every bite. The ground beef tacos came with 2 loaded tacos in a hard shell with lettuce, cheese, tomatoes with a side of beans and rice. We also got one fish taco and the batter and seasoning was very flavorful. I was very impressed with this small mall eatery, it was more than a fast food joint. They took their time with our order and felt legit. They also have taco Tuesday for $1.49 each! Potato roll tacos, surf and turf burrito, and variety of other dishes.
Been here twice so far and the food is amazing, consistent, and fast. Their hot sauces are spicy and delicious. Get a Carnita torta. You won't be sad, but you might be hooked.
Reasonably priced food that's tasty. My last visit was a cheese enchilada combo with rice and beans. Hearty portions. Parking: It's in the food court at the mall so parking is no problem; and fairly close Wheelchair accessibility: Large open food court with automatic opening doors
My first time here as we were strolling through the Grossmont Center. Glad we chose this spot! We ordered: 1. Breakfast Ham & Cheese Burrito: tortilla was soft and fresh. The ham and cheese ratio was perfect and will definitely order again! 2. Surf & Turf burrito: the shrimp was plump and juicy, they definitely do not skimp on the meats. Comes with rice, which was flavorful and delicious. 3. Chicken large flautas: LARGE and chicken was shredded and seasoned, piping hot and fresh, comes with different toppings, fresh lettuce, salsa and more! They sell horchata, Jamaica, orange bang as well, and they have a good selection of salsas. The owner was super friendly; it's always great to see the owner working in his own establishment. Love supporting locally owned shops. Dining room seating is open and available, with social distancing, of course.
I got a California burrito and it's the best. Definitely I'll be back here.
Everyone is very nice, ever if they're having a bad day. I love the rolled tacos and the beans!! The owner is sweet, but you can tell she's stressed. The place has reasonable prices, and fast service! The food always comes out great, and delicious. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants a quick bite oon their lunch break.
