The food is delicious, good portions, and staff is nice. I came here with some friends for the first time, and I ordered the Gyro plate and some fries on the side. The plate came with a greek side salad that was fresh and delicious, the meat was tender and flavorful, the tzatziki sauce was yummy, and the bread and rice were great. The fries were also nicely salted and crispy. The dishes my friends ordered also looked really good, and they said they loved their food as well. They have an array of dishes from greek, mexican, and american diner food,0and honestly everything looks good, so I don't think you could go wrong with any of the food. Overall great place to eat and I will definitely be coming back to try more
At first I thought, "for a hole in the wall Cafe, this place is a little pricey"... but honestly, everything that everyone had at the table was really good. Fantastic enchiladas, great club sandwich, and a patty melt that was remarkable. Overall, good food, good service, worth the money. The owner should be proud and I heard he was back there cooking!
Wow, great place to eat the food had great flavor. It was very clean, fast and friendly. They are very accommodating on substitutions. We had server 12 i can't remember her name but she was great. Also the salsa was fantastic.would recommend, we are from out of town but really enjoyed our breakfast hereFood: 5/5
I have a family member who insists on eating here when we come to town. Personally I don't think the food is great and nothing special about the atmosphere. This visit I had the meatloaf sandwich and they cut the meatloaf into thin slices, meatloaf is supposed to be thick. It tasted like old griddle grease. The mashed potatoes weren't bad. Again everything here is just OK. The service is always friendly and efficient.
Bad first experience. Just had the breakfast burrito with rice and beans Mexican plate and it was terrible. The beans were chili beans like the ones on a chili dog and fries. And the rice was white rice like from an Asian dish. Nothing “Mexican” like their sign says. My stomach then started to hurt. Do not recommend. The waitress was nice though.
The staff treated us like family! All were so friendly and eager to please. They took very good care of our large party. We'll be back! Parking: It's in a strip mall so parking is plentiful.
Reviews of this place have me convinced the people of La Mesa have no taste buds. This food was so gross! Something was off with everything. Pick an adverb - mushy, runny, flavorless, unseasoned, overcooked, watery, cheap Food was so bad we knew sending it back wouldn't make a difference so didnt bother. On our way to try and catch McDonald's breakfast.

I have been to Patty’s several times in the past. The food is good. I went about a week ago with my mother and son and I wanted the waffle special which came with two eggs and two slices of bacon. I asked the waitress if I could have my waffle made into a bacon waffle, which by the way is also on the menu as just a separate item with no sides, and she told me no they could not substitute the waffle out and I would have to order the bacon waffle as my order and then do the eggs and bacon à la cart. When looking all this up on the menu I’d be paying about eight dollars extra. I have never been told at a restaurant that I could not substitute something without paying the difference in the cost. I again asked can I get a waffle special that comes with the two eggs and the two slices of bacon and pay extra for the waffle bacon because I understand it’s just not a plain waffle. Again the waitress told me no they will not do substitutions and muffled something about having to put the bacon in the waffle batter? For this simple reason I will not be back to Patty’s. As I said the food is good, but I did not say the food was great. There are plenty of other breakfast places near and around with food better that I have never had an issue with substitution. So for me it came down to the restaurant choosing money over the patron. Like I said, I was willing to pay extra for the substituted waffle but I did not want to do all a cart as this would’ve made it a $22 breakfast as opposed to me paying 2 to 3 dollars for the bacon to be crumbled in my waffle that they had to make from scratch anyways. Choose where you spend your money wisely , mine will no longer be spent here
