Stay and worked at many KOA's. Everyone here has been very friendly an helpful. My husband had an unexpected hospitalization. And we needed to stay longer. They were very accommodating and kind to us. Steve spend a long time trying to help getting our TV working. Facilities are clean. Laundry room big and clean with even a nice place to sit and wait. Friends visited us here and was very impressed with their deluxe cabin. Better than any motel room. Can't say enough about this place. Worth your visit!

Have had mixed experiences here over the years. First time there we reserved over the internet and they tried to tell us some dirt and trees site was a "grassy, shaded area." Another time we were told we could check in early if we wanted only to show up and be told, very rudely, by the person at the counter that we could not check in and would have to wait. Which we did. For two hours while we watched the workers lounge around until we complained and then all of a sudden our sites were ready. And then found a pile of half burned trash in the fire pit. That same year my FIL's bike was stolen one night. Other years in between these two we've had no problems. Of course this past summer we stayed here and had $200 in cash stolen from our vehicle. Also, they remodeled the one set of bathrooms to make more shower areas...but took out most of the toilet areas in that building. Not sure that was a great idea IMHO. We don't plan on revisiting for at least a few years to see if things change a bit.

We stayed there the week of June 13,2016. The campground is close to VA beach and attractions. The staff was great and the grounds were clean. The restrooms and bathhouses were very clean and well-maintained. Even though the sites very fairly close together, there were lots of trees and shade. The pool and rec area was one of the best we've seen at a campground. Oceania NAS is nearby so there is jet noise throughout the day, a plus for me but maybe not others. But it was not too early or late and not continuous.

What I loved: the amenities for kids get an A+, the store is well stocked. My son and I LOVED the giant chess set. We took the shuttle to the beach everyday for only $8 for our whole family of 6. The pool area is the BEST and the staff was very very nice. What I hated: MUD! Our site had zero gravel. In fact, every site needed gravel. Other KOAs don't have a water slide, but they all have better gravel. Lastly, they should invest in a mosquito exterminator service. The mosquitoes were horrible. We scratched all week long.

My stay at KOA Va. Beach was horrible. First, the water in the showers smells like cistern water. The smell will stay on you all day. It took me 3 days to get the smell out of my hair. Second we made reservations for 6 days, Water, Electric and cable. however when we arrived 8:00 at night it was 90 degrees with humidity 110, we sat up (pop up) only to find out there was no cable on that side, ( we even confirmed that at check in), The General Manager said move to another site, ( pack up and unpack). I told him it was to hot to do that all over again, he said he could control alot but not the weather, at one point he started raised his voice with me, i ask him to lower it. His reply to me was he did not like the way i was standing with my hands on my hips and he did not like the way i twirled my hair. The bathrooms stink and are very dirty.
