We have been staying here for the last 10 years every Christmas. This year we got cabin 642 and the bed is new and perfect, new couch and new furniture...WOW! This place is beautiful and same price as last year. Free slow wifi but it works and small flat screen TV. I think they are trying to turn it around and are successful. Cabin can bring pets but not at townhouse. Enjoy.

Great price, clean and simple. We fit 9 people in the suite comfortably enough with an extra air mattress in the loft. There were only two pots, one large and one small, so we could have brought an extra to make things a little easier. The bedrooms are very small and there isn't room to stick a playpen or any other large objects. We did bring a stand-up fan which fit nicely. There were four outlets in each bedroom. No DVD player, but the TV had good channels. Very close to the beach, which is much more private than the main part of the beach downtown. Would definitely come again!

The camping cabins are old and are heavy with the smell of mildew. They are a great value though and the beach is gorgeous! Just not a good idea for people with bad allergies. Next time I'll bring a tent.

These are great cabin''s but could use some TLC and staff that care.. hope they can turn these around and improve service related to Fort Story cabins. -31 Aug 2017-

We highly recommend this campground. We met our non-DoD family members here to camp for 4 nights. It was easy getting them on and sponsoring them in the campground. We all enjoyed the quiet campground, the kids had fun exploring. We rode bikes from base to First Landing State Park. Felt like we had our own private beach on base. Enjoyed the lighthouse. We took a short drive to Norfolk and toured the base there. The showers were hot and the bath-house was clean. The people were very friendly too.
