I brought my car in, he hooked it up to the monitor and said they would have to hook it up to a different machine for $75. before even beginning to fix it. I found this unreasonable. They say they have been in business since the 80's, how did they diagnose cars before machines told them what to do? 
It turned out to be a simple repair from another mechanic that knew Toyota's well..(aren't Toyota's the most common car around?)
I found this way of doing business was a scam to make more money.

Absolutely amazing service!  I stopped in after my tires continued to lose air and a funny noise was coming from the bottom of my car. They took me in immediately, test drove my car so they could listen to the noise too, and then fixed it for FREE after working on it for an hour. Will absolutely go back over and over again, these guys are phenomenal.

The best service in South Portland!  Quality work, professional and always fair.  They never try to over-sell me.  Instead they explain everything that needs to be done and give options.  Thank you Waterman's!

These guys fix my car and don't bullshit around. They explained to me how to keep my car well maintained and have even done little quick fixes free of charge when I didn't know what was going on. Highly recommended. Hard to find a good mechanic these days.
