Story

Waterman's Surfside Grille captures a slice of coastal living for the true flavor of Virginia Beach! Family owned and operated since 1981, Waterman's serves only the freshest seafood, steaks, and ribs. Serving lunch and dinner daily and brunch on Sundays, we offer indoor and outdoor dining overlooking the ocean, as well as a patio boardwalk bar. It's not a trip to Waterman's without a taste of our signature She Crab Soup and Original Orange Crush cocktail!

It was quiet and peaceful at 1530. Outside weather was lovely and no one was there. Once the dinner crowd came, that’s when our comfort ended and we wanted to leave. Dinner starts at 1600. The lunch menu does not have all the items that I could wait 15 more minutes for...so I did. One my seafood linguine came out, it was delicious. Make sure you ask for lots of lemon and shredded Parmesan. Once I add that on top and stirred it in, the dish was fabulous. The crab dip was an awesome appetizer. My concerns: the house salad balsamic vinaigrette dressing was not good with those greens. They need to take away the sweet ingredient that was added to it. I asked for Italian and they do not carry that dressing. Also, I tasted my husband’s Caesar side salad and guess what? They used a thousand island dressing. I was very disappointed on how the cook or waitress did not make us aware of either running out of Caesar dressing or that they do not traditionally make their salads with Caesar dressing. I’ve had my share of 200% rated restaurant foods domestically and internationally so I know that these salads were unacceptable. Plus I was craving the best when I saw the rating of this place online, so expectations are high when you go.

I have been here twice once was several years ago and for brunch. I really enjoyed it then. I just went back for lunch with girls from my office. We went on a Tuesday around noon and we did not have to wait for a table, we were a party of 10. Our server was very nice very knowledgeable and very helpful. Our food arrived in a decent amount of time and everything was prepared correctly and tasted great. I would definitely go back. If you go there also known for their Orange Crush drinks.

We were here last night for an anniversary dinner and we were more than pleased with the friendly staff, prompt service, and cozy atmosphere! We were impressed by the scallops appetizer and the black cherry-lime crush! I had fish tacos and he had the Waterman's burger. We recommend both! GREAT place! 10/10 will highly recommend Waterman's to anyone we know in the VA Beach area!

Always fresh and delicious seafood. Adequate portions for price point. There is indoor and outdoor seating and they are located on the oceanfront. Great atmosphere with friendly staff. You have to try one of their orange crush specialty drinks.

House of famous Orange Crushes! Great Menu, Food is great! Restaurant by the ocean front! Awesome all year round. Beautiful inside, also enjoy outside seating by the boardwalk Romantic and Fun!
