My experience with Zimmerman began when I met one of their service personnel on the street. He was leaving a home that I had visited because they were using excessive water. As a service person for the water company I wanted to follow up on the findings of my customer. The Zimmerman service person took time to explain what he found and I felt sure my customer would not continue to use excessive water. This customer had mentioned to me that they had Zimmerman for service and spoke very highly of them. I was on the market for a replacement furnace, air-conditioner and a new emergency generator. That street experience weighted my decision to go with Zimmerman. Since then I have had very positive experiences with office personnel, installation personnel and service personnel. Heck even Earnie Zimmerman is OK! Perhaps Ernie charges a little more but I am sure that is how he keeps his top of the line employees. 01/30/2017 (two years later) I continue to have a maintenance agreement with Zimmerman. They show up on time and do a thorough check of the equipment. Yesterday I questioned the blower speed on my furnace (I have when the equipment is smarter than I) and the maintenance person listened to my issue then listened to my furnace. He agreed that it needed attention out of his time and spare part range. He made a couple calls and in an hour a service person was here and promptly replaced the faulty part. This was not a system down issue but they gave it exceptional Customer Service. 08/22/2017 Just had another Planned Maintenance which was on time and professional. I feel I am getting a good bang for my buck when you can tell the service technicians are happy with their employer. Keep up the good work Ernie and they will keep up their good work. 03/13/2018 Another great Planned Maintenance experience. I felt comfortable with my wife leaving your employee in to perform the maintenance. Having trust in your people is a big thing. Signed up for another year maintenance.

Mr Zimmerman, Respectfully, it is not okay for your staff who pick up the phone say to customers that its $69 (trip charge) to come and see what's wrong after which they will diagnose the problem and inform you about the cost to repair after which you can decide if you want them to go ahead. If you decide you don't want to go ahead you will only be responsible to pay the $69 and then your service technician come and say that's only to get him to the door after which there is a $256 charge to put on his cables and diagnose the problem after which the cost to repair will be revealed. That's an extra $256 from what was quoted on the phone. Readers please note the $69 is only to get them to the door then its $256 to diagnose the problem. So before calling them be prepared to spend $325 before you are even told what the problem is. I called HL Bowman and spent $78 for them to come and diagnose the problem. They put on their cables and luckily for me there was no problem that the 30 minute of labor which is included in their trip charge could not solve therefore I only had to pay $78 to them versus the $325 I would have to pay Zimmerman to diagnose the problem. I have been a satisfied customer of Zimmerman in the past for four years but I did not appreciate this. I expect to be informed honestly upfront about what I am paying for.

Very highly satisfied! I could not have asked for a quicker response by the office staff and 2 courteous employees who were commited to doing a messy plumbing task right, and who also left me with a clean kitchen. It was also a wonderful learning experience for me to observe the interaction between a seasoned, and patient, craftsman with his younger trainee. Costs were declared up front. I was left with no surprises. Zimmerman's installed our gas hot water heater in the mid 1990's and I cannot recall any serious problem ever. I praise the company for their integrity and care for their customers.

We recently bought a home with a newly installed natural gas furnace. Two weeks after we moved in a loud noise and banging sound came from the system, so we shut it down and were without heat. After a few days of chasing down the HVAC company who installed it with no luck we were fed up. So we called Zimmerman (which we should have done right off the bat). We called in the morning and they were out at our house by noon! Derek fixed the problem quickly and took the time to teach us more about our system and shared tips for caring for it. It was great working with Zimmerman and you can sure bet we will be using them every time moving forward!

Very frustrated with my experience. Sent a web inquiry in to see about having a Kenmore water softener repaired. A woman called me right away. I asked if that was something they could help me with, and while they were out, if they could vent our bathroom fan through the roof (the previous owner only had it vented into the attic). She indicated they could and we setup an appointment for the next day. Fast-forward 24 hours, and the repair tech spent maybe 20 min in my house. After telling him I went through the troubleshooting steps on Kenmore's website, he said he couldn't repair the softener, only replace it (at $1900 for what's about a $500 appliance). He also took one look at the fan and said they couldn't do that either -- they'd have to outsource to a carpenter (at $450, as opposed to the $250 a roofer quoted me when checking out the roof). Oh yeah -- and they charged me a $69 entry fee to tell me that they couldn't do either thing the appointment setter claimed they could. That's really the frustrating part -- no new information was gathered that wasn't provided over the phone. I'd heard great things about Zimmerman, and the employees were nice enough, but I can't help feeling like they stole $69 from me.
