I didn't have a great experience at this autoshop and I will never be returning. I had a misfire on cylinder 5.  I brought it in-- they did stuff, charged me $685 and sent me away.  While I was driving away my car did the same thing it did before I spent $685. So...I drove it for awhile waited for that check engine light to come on and once it did  I took it back in and they did more stuff this time to the tune of $900.  They must be too busy to test drive cars after repairs because it did EXACTLY what it did before within 5 minutes of driving.   

After "fixing" my car the second time my windshield was cracked and my windshield wiper fluid wouldn't spray.  Well, you don't use windshield fluid everyday and a crack could just be a crack I didn't notice before.  But,  then my bro in law who is a mechanic checked out my car and the wiper fluid hose was pinched up out of place (I assumed moved so they could "fix" the stuff and then never put back.  I looked and lo and behold  there right at the base of the window was the starting point of my mysterious crack.

I know this all probably sounds nuts.  I am not a crazy person. Just an annoyed customer who spent a lot of money for nothing.  I did send the owner an email after the second bad experience and never received a response.

My public suggestions for Aamco Sandy are as follows:
1. Fix stuff and then test drive to verify it is actually fixed.
2. Attention to detail is important-- extra points for hooking the wiper fluid hose back up and not cracking windows.
3.  Responding to an email is good business.

This review is a long time coming.  I thought I could just shrug it off but every time I see that crack or feel a sputter in the engine my blood runs little warmer.  I do feel a lot better now that it is written down.

I had a very positive experience here. They were busy but made time to meet my needs. Jax, the manager, is professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The technicians are great too. They were quick to diagnose and fix the problem. I would recommend this shop to anyone near Sandy.

AAMCO was extremely professional and thorough with my daughters car. The price was fair and I appreciate the fact that they want to review the transmission to make sure that everything is still in working order. Todd was great!

This place has given us the worst car service we have ever had. We called on a Wednesday and they said they could get our van towed there that night. I went in Thursday morning to give them the key and no one knew why our van wasn't there and why there was no record of it. The original quote they gave us was then upped by $1300 for a rebuilt transmission. They told us it would be done the following Tuesday. We are now nine days past that and our van still isn't fixed. They said it will be at least Tuesday until it is done which puts them two past the original date they told us it would be fixed. I wish we had never brought our van here. If I could give them no stars, I would.

I had been dealing with some transmission slippage while towing our camping trailer for several months, it was bothering me that as I took our 2004 Tahoe to the dealer and several different mechanic's - all I could get was "guess work".  Jax was able to explain in great detail the steps that we needed to go through with Aamco - and was very upfront about the diagnosis costs.  
Once they got our car up on the rack and figured out exactly what was going on, Jax was very clear on exactly what caused the problem, what needed to be fixed and the repair costs associated.  There was no guess work, there was no assumptions - it was very well laid out, this is what is wrong and this is what we need to get fixed.  The repairs were expensive - but with the Aamco 18 month warranty on the entire transmission, not just the parts they fixed, it was well worth the effort.  I was very pleased with the customer service and the speed at which they were able to perform the repairs.  I don't know how much longer we will own the truck - but it is nice having the peace of mind that I will not be stuck out in southern Utah with a camping trailer and family along and have the truck not working.

Thanks again for getting our transmission rebuilt - amazing difference!
