we visit here every year with our large family. (usually shelter A) we always have a good experience. hosts are friendly, always ask if we need anything and clean the bathrooms twice a day. trails for hiking are close and the rio pueblo river is right there for fishing. sipapu ski resort is close if you need ice or a cold drink. camp area is perfect for our large family. we love it.

The camp host was RUDE and not helpful at all!!!  Useless host.  We've camped in a dozen other areas and every host was great, until this jackass.  After they gave poor directions to my site which was hidden waaaaay in the back, at night, and I got lost, he proceeded to be rude and talk to me like a 2 year old instead of trying to help, which is his JOB.  He refused to provide a map, and his directions sucked.

The site sucked too.  It had stairs to get to the fire grate and they were a major hazard.  The site wasn't even maintained.  

Don't waste your time or money here.  There are ALOT of way better sites.

Stayed here 27,28 and 29 may 2017. The camp host was so rude mean and made us feel very uncomfortable. He was definitely drunk and probably racist. This area is so amazingly beautiful. I recommend but maybe when this host moves on.

Beautiful camp ground a few miles past sipapu ski basin. Such a nice spot. Camping by near the stream and hiked 2.5 miles up to Indian lake which was a nice hike. Will definitely stay here again.
