Beautifully wooded campground off the main road, with very minor traffic noise. All the vaulted toilets were clean and smelled nice (with the exception of the general bugs and dirt you can't avoid when camping). Water spouts close to all campsites! Wonderful sounds of a flowing stream running through the campground and a gorgeous hiking trail to keep you busy. We loved it here so much and definitely plan to return as often as possible!

Great hiking trail. Follows the creek at least all the way to the confluence with Deer Creek. It is well traveled, so you know you are on the trail. We went all the way to Deer Creek. At that point, you can continue up to Gold Hill and from there on several different trails. We had little kids with us, so the roughly 2 miles to this location was far enough. We would have gone further up Columbine, but due to the high water from snow melt we had to turn around; the bridge over Columbine Creek was out! I believe this would have been the fourth bridge across the creek for anyone reading this soon after June 18, 2017. You could have made it across by taking the trees that have fell across the creek, but with a 5 year old we decided not to risk it. That said, it was a great hike! All the cascades down the mountain were beautiful!

Very nice campground paved, but found host to be a little overbearing passing several times an hour to stress rules on people .sign on water not allowing to get more than cooking pot . Have stayed in several camps in area and been very satisfied,

Columbine Campground is beautiful with well maintained creek and hiking areas. The camp hosts were extremely nice and kept the restrooms clean and stocked with T.P. The only downside to our trip was the fact that it got really cold at night. We were sleeping in a tent and never thought it would get as cold as it did. We went in town and bought some sleeping bags and were fine for the rest of the stay.
