Story

Relax in a luxury historic bed and breakfast in Charleston noted for it’s southern hospitality. The inn offers six guest rooms and one suite all furnished with antique four-poster, pencil-post and canopy beds. All of our rooms have private en-suite bathrooms. Don’t forget to visit our photos and descriptions of our rooms. The gardens feature a charming sitting area and beautiful fountain where you can enjoy the tranquility and rejuvenate your spirit.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! To start off, no staff was there when we arrived at 4 pm Friday afternoon. The front door was locked but luckily another guest let us in. We were supposed to stay in the suite, but they moved my party of four to two small rooms with the bathroom outside the room. The room we were in was no joke, the size of a closet and the bed was tiny! It squeaked with even the slightest move. There were cockroaches in our bathroom. The breakfast hardly passes for a meal. Breakfast hours are from 8-10. We went down for breakfast at 8:50 am and there were only 3 yogurts, a few pieces of questionable fruit and a couple croissants. Our party of four too the yogurts and the two croissants. I was disappointed there was not more offered. When I asked the staff member of I could have a muffin, she said she was only allowed to set out a certain number of each thing every morning. A woman who came down after is for breakfast didn't have the option of yogurt or pastries. When she asked for a yogurt or anything to eat, the staff member said they were all out. THEY LIE!!! We were very disappointed with our stay and will never stay here again. It was definitely a bait and switch deal.

THE THRILL IS GONE Ashley Inn has sold and with that went the charm, customer service and gourmet breakfast. Skimpy continental spread is served down the street not at the Inn. Also no office or staff on site. You are treated as revenue not a guest. Stay somewhere else!

This Inn is absolutely gorgeous, it's an historical building founded in 1832! It's just a jewel! Rooms are super clean and well furnished with TV and all the bathroom essentials. Breakfast doesn't offer a lot of options but you can find very well baked muffins and biscuits. Also, yogurt, cereals, fruit, coffee, tea and orange juice. The staff is very friendly and kind and not intrusive at all. We felt like in a private home.

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. The room I got was so small barley enough room for 2 people. Air conditioner hardly worked there was no one there to help you like if you needed to borrow an iron or fresh towels. The bed was very uncomfortable . You had to go down the street for breakfast which was sorry . There not willing to work with you at all . I had booked 2 nights thinking it was 159.00 a night but I didn't realize that was week day rates so I. Ended up having to pay 688.00 for this sorry place. MANGER would not return calls. My advice don't ever stay there
