Story

Come in kick off your boots and enjoy the hybrid of Memphis style long bone ribs, dry-rubbed baby backs, sliced Texas brisket, and pork slow cooked Carolina style in Guiness. Our sauce recipes come from Western North Carolina, Louisiana and Kansas City and our grilled Tiger Shrimp is topped in a New Orleans remoulade. Don't forget the cornbread, you're guarenteed to leave full and satisfied!

Okay so I might be a bit biased because I love me some barbecue but honestly, this place kills it. The decor is spot on for a good BBQ joint. Love the marble top bar by the cooking area and the stainless steel actual bar works very well in its presentation. The ceiling as one walks into the back is a little low for my comfort but I'm also very tall so this won't be quite the issue for most people and I certainly don't hold it against them. The staff is polite and very understanding. They were very nice about my party being a wee bit late for our reservation and missing one person. The brisket is tender and cooked to perfection. The ribs, in all forms, are falling off the bone perfect. The honey cinnamon butter used with the hush puppies so so good it has to terribly unhealthy. They offer a wide range of sides (the collard greens are a favorite of mine) and honestly, this place is even good for a vegetarian or one that eats fish too. Draft beer selection is a little difficult because most of it is rotating selections from various well known breweries but our server was able to list them all without skipping a beat. Their bottles beer selection is pretty solid and their cocktail list is equally deep. Overall, if you are looking for a very solid BBQ offering, you can't go wrong with this spot.

The barbecue brisket was tender and had a good smoky flavor. The grilled vegetables were hot and flavorful. I was not impressed with the macaroni and cheese however. I had a salad with lemon basil vinaigrette. Mostly just Romain lettuce and tomatoes. I did like the dressing however. Service was decent and friendly. 2/14/2018 Back for another visit and food and service did not disappoint. Worth the visit!

I was enthusiastic to try this place based on (in spite of) the reviews. I had Mason-Dixon combination (ribs and chicken). The chicken was very good, well seasoned very moist. The Memphis ribs were essentially inedible they were dry and hard even in the center of the rack. I enjoyed the sides particularly the Collard which was a little unusual because they were braised in a tomato base. The mac and cheese was good. The cornbread was very good and a bit unusual ( maybe has some molasses in it?). They give you a tremendous amount of sweet potato fries as an appetizer far more than I could eat. Service was decent. Given the cost and quality I don't think I will go again.

Great food, comfortable atmosphere, awesome beer selection, and amazing location. Could you ask for anything else? Staff is friendly, place is clean. Would highly recommend for a great bite to eat or a place to stop and hang.

Yankee excuse for bbq! I was actually excited to try this place but was so disappointed. I ordered brisket and when I got my plate it looked like pulled pork. They were completely out of collard greens. The macaroni and cheese was made with rigatoni noodles....which is weird and it made it mushy. Are you still reading? Don’t go here. Apart from the food, our table was pretty uncomfortable as well. Cramped and loud. Needless to say I will absolutely never go back.
