Like others have stated, they don't even deserve the one star. Where do I even start? I have never wanted to open a banking account because nothing but problems always seem to arise with money that I've already worked hard for. I had opened this account thinking maybe they might be different than past experiences I've had with other banks. This was one of my first transactions/interactions with this bank. I walked in with my girlfriend and son to deposit the three $100 bills I had EXACTLY planned for the bills I needed to pay that day. Amber Garcia the lady who had helped me, was making small talk about my son (how cute he was, how old etc.) But first had asked me how she could help me when I told her specifically "I'd like to deposit this THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS into my account please." When she responded with "no problem," and making the small talk about my son while depositing what I thought was the $300 I had just handed her. Now, I should have looked at my receipt. But being nicely distracted by her questions about my son, I went about my plans with my family on my only day off. After lunch, I had looked at my banking app. About to pay bills, noticed Amber Garcia had only deposited $220 into my account. I thought it might be a mistake. Got my receipt only to see the same. Knowing I had handed her THREE $100 dollars bills and stated for her to deposit the 300. I had loaded my family up in the car to come to the bank and try to resolve it. She remembered us upon walking up and when we stated the problem she had said "no, you handed me 220" and said she'd get her manager. Marissa Luark the manager, came to count her drawer and in fact her drawer was over the $80 I was missing in my account. They had apologized and deposited it into my account (both of which I have the receipts for.) Go about my day with my family and check my app again only to find the $80 WITHDRAWN from my account but no sign of it being there ever(even though it had just been deposited from her mistake.) We had to wait till the morning to go back because conveniently it was right before 5pm when they closed. Pack my family back up in the car back to the bank in the morning (let me add I work 12 hour night shifts, I don't have time to fight for money I've already worked hard for & lose time with my family I hardly see.) Only to be told that they had talked to another customer and determined with that customer that the $80 was theirs and from their account. SERIOUSLY. WHERE IS THE EVIDENCE. There needs to be some sort of number to contact OTHER than the employees about problems like these. We got $80, that we did not have stolen from us by a BANK. One the first transactions we've had. I'm so unbelievably upset and disappointed that people would do this. Even more so from a source that deals with peoples money on a daily. For someone who is there to count money and withdraw, deposit peoples money. You'd think the lady wouldn't mistake a $100 BILL for a $20, when I didn't even have any 20's on me since I just got paid & cashed my check. I cannot believe these people. Also have YET to be contacted about the security video on the worker when I came in to deposit money. Which also should be handled with someone other than any employees inside that bank. So upset with this experience.

They don't even deserve the one star. I have had my mortgage through them for almost 8 years plus have my money markets, savings and multiple checking accounts at Bank of the West for over 10 years. Recently I made a 19K deposit (check from my employer) which confirmed the check cleared the bank, they are holding the funds for more than a week even though I have enough to cover that check in my accounts. I asked the manager, Debbie Larson if they can lift the hold, she tells me no they don't do that. I don't have an issue with Bank of the West's services, I have an issue with this banks rude customer service. When someone is this loyal to your business with an excellent track record, you should consider that before telling them no. After she said no, I asked her, is it just me you won't do it for because I have a joint account with my boyfriend who has had multiple deposits over 30K and they cleared it the next day...she then got condescending. I really didn't need the money, I was going to just transfer the money into my money market account which i have at the same bank. I'm considering going with another institution that won't treat me like I'm trying to scam them....after being loyal for 10 plus years. Thank you Debbie Larson for your sh*&&y customer service.

Service from teller was less than stellar! Poor communication, Branch Manager failed to get involved with problem! Banked there for years, an oversight on my behalf, created issue but instead of helping, got defensive, and stated that it was my problem not theirs. Noticed that they asked for I.D. from elderly customer who even I recognized, who is a longtime customer! Know your customer and pull your head out of your butt! Wanted to charge $5.00 for printing copy of Bank Statement showing I had sufficient funds. Had to go home and get my own to verify. $7.50 fee for non customers to cash check drawn on Bank of the West! Fees, fees, fees! Where does it stop! Time to start stashing money in coffee can in back yard like the old days!

I have NEVER had a positive experience in dealing with anyone at this branch. For individuals that work with numbers on a daily basis, it is shocking to see how many errors I have had to deal with. What's more, on multiple occasions I have been told something and would then get the runaround with completely different information. I am not sure if the individuals working there are just incompetent or just don't care.

I have been banking with Bank of the West for 6 years and totally pleased with their customer service and attentiveness. Even when they lose an employee with exceptional customer relations skills they are soon replaced with another hardworking employee trying their best and succeeding. I give them my highest level recommendation. I do not think that I would receive more of a "small town" feel if I was banking in a town with a population under 500.
