Went to Firestone to get a diagnostic for a squeak. My squeak ended up being 1500$ worth of repairs to my entire vehicle. What!? Completely stressed out at about a 12 from 1-10. Found Bao's by sheer dumb luck. Spent about a good 15-20 minutes talking to the office lady about "THE LIST"..rare. Took it in. Bao looked over everything. 1500$ came down to 180$. Everything on that list was BS! Some I already knew, some I didn't. My issue was a control arm. Was told have to get the whole arm. NOPE. Bao, TOOK THE TIME, to fix JUST what was wrong with it to save ME money. This is crazy right.. Who does this? THEY DO. He and his staff go above and beyond. My rare diamond. They have my full trust and I am at total ease. 100%. I have been blessed. Not only with my recent repair, but that I have someone I can go to and TRUST with my car problems. Top end parts, inexpensive labor, and STILL come out 50% or more, lower than all of the cons out there that think and sucker is born every minute. 6 middle fingers up to you Firestone!!! Decent people likes these folks, who TRULY want to help you, still exist. My rare diamond :).

A rare thing to find a truly honest mechanic. He has even turned me away before because the issue my vehicle was having did not NEED to be fixed right away, and he said I would be wasting my money to get it fixed. He is great on pricing, very fair. I have been going exclusively to him for 5 years now and will not change that. Highly recommend. Just call first to make sure he can take you that day, as he stays busy.

I called Bao last summer and decided not to write a review at the time, but since I have been through the experience of having bad mechanics, I feel that I should give a review of my actual experience.

I went to the bank one day to cash my check, and when I got in the car, the key wouldn't crank the engine. I merely heard something snap and break, and the key just turned with the ignition lock cylinder in circles.

I called Bao, telling him I had an older car (1997 Taurus), and he didn't want to work on it until I told him it was well taken care of and in good condition. He reluctantly agreed.

He told me he had a steering wheel column on-hand and that it would be $140. After looking up parts, I couldn't even find a part for that cheap, so I agreed.

After coming back to see my car, he put in a steering wheel column from a 2000's model that needed a chip to program the key, unlike my old one, and the key that came with it was very beat up. The color was beige and did not match my grey interior, and the worst part was the clock-spring for the airbag did not have the right fitting to plug into my car, so I couldn't honk my horn, as the horn runs through that connection. He also charged me $175.

I recently said good-bye to my car, but his shoddy work was one of the main reasons why I didn't keep it. I was also in an accident that damaged the trunk, and it would have cost too much to replace the two.

I never came back to Bao because I moved out-of-state, and knowing that I would not be a repeat customer, I believe that he shafted me. There are a lot of good, honest people in Knoxville, so you should be able to find a good mechanic. I would advise you not to go to Bao, as you can find someone just as good who will stand behind their work and treat your car better somewhere else.

I really do NOT recommend BAO. VERY BAD attitude.I went there 3 times. Only satisfied  for the first time, beacause I have several problem on my cars and spend more than $300. But, when I go there for service that is not expensive, Bao always says he is too busy and let me go other place. You can not even contact him. so bad.  Moreover, charge for more than I was told a week ago.
