Belmar did a great job on our roof.  They took great care in moving our patio furniture and returned it safely also.  They were very polite and accomodating for our busy family as they worked making sure we were safe.  The roof looks awesome and they cleaned some of our gutters and window frames too. Thank you!

After 6 months and 5 return visits, they still haven't been able to fix the leak in our roof that started after they put the new roof on. It takes weeks of phoning every other day just to book a service call. They say they can't book service calls in advance, and just put you on a list, and then decide each morning where they'll be working. I found that they'd forget about us if we didn't call occasionally to ask about progress. They won't even give you an estimate on what week they'll be available to do the work.

Price was good but workmanship seriously lacking.  It took 3 weeks to have someone come back to correct the errors.  First visit they did nothing.  Second visit most issues were resolved.  

Defect types: exposed nails, cracked shingles and torn singles, nails coming through shingles, loose caps on the peaks .  After 2 visits there was still a cracked shingle. I'm tired of dealing with these guys.  They also dumped garbage in my attic the days they installed the roof. Snot rags, shingle bags, old shingles. Enough to fill an entire garbage bag.

Really unprofessional.

Never had them do work for me, But I will never hire them. I was walking on King Street West today, One of there vans went on the sidewalk and smashed into a poll, Instead of calling a tow truck or something, The people in the van got out, All of them smoking and having a party on the sidewalk, yelling and swearing loudly. And when I walked back past 2 hours later they were still there doing the same thing.  Very disrespectful. When they did my neighbors roof this summer. I couldn't sit on my deck due to them constantly yelling, Swearing and playing overly loud music. Every second word seemed to be a swear word.

Average service and poor attention to detail.

We had water infiltrating our house in the living room above our garage and in to the garage itself. We contacted Belmar, and I explained the situation.  I said I was willing to get a whole new roof because I wanted the issue fixed and our roof was 15 years old. I explained that while we didn't have a crisis on our hands, time was of the essence. The representative from Belmar said they would try to get out to us as a priority and that they had seen this problem with a lot of houses like ours and the fix was to apply caulking - and they were forthcoming that this 'fix' would need to be reapplied every few years. I accepted this as the house we're in is not famous for its build quality.

They showed up several weeks later. The crew that was present was friendly enough, and I invited one of them inside to see the leak. His only comment was that "people who use caulking to solve problems should be shot" and said he would call me with the results of what they find once they start pulling shingles.

They did not call, they simply replaced the roof and left. It took several days to get an answer from Belmar,  and they said they did not find anything wrong, so it must be a problem with the siding. They wanted an additional $3500 (which is how much the roof of our small townhouse was to replace ...) to "fix the siding" but could not offer specifics as to what needed to be done.

I called a siding company who came out the next day and said they could immediately see issues that Belmar (who, again, claim they also do siding) should have seen clearly upon inspection and that in some spots they could see/touch foam insulation.

Needless to say I'm not pleased. Yes, I have a new roof. It doesn't look much like the brochure (it looks more slapped together and uneven, etc.) but I guess time will tell if the roof itself was done well and now I still have to fix my actual problem.

Edit:

Since then I had another company come out to look at my siding, and for a fraction of what Belmar said would be needed, they repaired and fixed up a few other unrelated things around my house. Furthermore, they showed me very open, obvious defects that were either overlooked or ignored by Belmar's roofers.
