Black Rock Park is a very nice place to stay and there is a lot of stuff to do in the area. We could have easily stayed a week and been very busy. We originally had a campsite booked, but we decided to get a cabin instead because there was a lot of rain in the forecast that weekend. I wasn't expecting much from the tent sites, but they were very nice. The cabins were also very nice...basic, but comfortable and very clean. You might want to bring some chairs and a small table of some sort as the cabins don't have either of those inside. They do have picnic tables outside though. The bathrooms were very clean until the weekend came and the park filled up, then the floors were constantly dirty and wet due to rain, etc. That was my least favorite thing, but you'll find that pretty much anywhere you go with public bathrooms. It was nice having a private bathroom with a shower though. The only thing I wish the bathrooms had was a vacant/occupied sign that switched when you turned the deadbolt. That would make it easier to tell if someone was using the bathroom. The staff at Black Rock Park were all very friendly and helpful...couldn't ask anything more from them. If you enjoy bird watching there are a lot of birds that you can see right from your cabin. We saw American Coots, Pie Billed Grebes, White Pelicans, Canadian Geese, Ring Billed Gulls, Common Grackles, Bewick's Wrens, Killdeer, Plovers, Mallards and a Peregrine Falcon all without even trying. I would recommend Black Rock park and would definitely stay again.

Great view of Buchanan Dam at night. Cute cabins on waterfront. Camping and rv parking. Boat ramp. Clean , nice. Only 4 stars because small and don't really consider it a park. Great, clean, well kept, new cabins, good location, short drive to hiking trail parks.

Always have a great experience here. Lodged in shelters: Stay during week is best to avoid crowd. Pet friendly cabins available. Pet cabins are updated with metal bunk beds and newer windows. Lake level great (Nov 2017) Friendly park hosts and staff was very helpful. Lots of upkeep constantly going on, good to see people take pride in the park.
