Story

Bosshardt Realty Services is a full service real estate company serving North Central Florida. With approximately 80 REALTORS®, Bosshardt Realty covers Gainesville and communities in Alachua County, plus Lake City.

Founded in 1987 by Carol Bosshardt who had a dream of providing a comprehensive suite of real estate solutions all under one roof in order to better serve her clients. Bosshardt now offers services that include Property Management, Community Association Management, Title Insurance, Commercial and Land Division, New Homes Division, and an in-house mortgage lender.

Today, the company is still family owned and operated, with Carol’s son, Aaron, serving as President and Broker of Record of Bosshardt Realty and Aaron’s wife, Kim, a Board Certified Real Estate Attorney leading Bosshardt Title Insurance. Bosshardt’s industry-leading REALTORS® are guaranteed to provide solutions for all commercial and residential needs.

I have to assume Bosshardt paid for good Google reviews, because they are by far the worst rental company I've used to date.

Repairs were a huge hassle. We had to contact them on average 4-5 times before they fixed basic things like doors that were broken upon move-in. 

After we gave them notice that we were moving out, they started hosting showings in our house to prospective renters. So about 3 times a week we had strangers walking through and inspect our house. This happened for the last 2 months of our rental. On a few occasions they had reps show up unannounced (which is illegal) to hold showings after 8:00 pm. 

After move out, they waited until the last weekend before their legally required 30 days were up to contact us about our deposit. They took out $225 for trimming hedges, and $150 for having to take out a fee. Yes, a clause in your lease is that if they withhold any amount of your deposit, for any reason, they take an additional $150 on top of it. And rest assured they will find something to nickel and dime you on so they can claim that free $150 from you.

I only gave this 2 stars because if I gave it 1, you might be tempted to overlook this review. They deserve a 1 star rating. I recommend you steer clear of this company if you can manage it. They engage in predatory renting practices because there is little competition in the area. Try an apartment or rent from a private owner instead.

So my husband and I searched for many months for the right location for our office. We were renting and wanted to buy. We found a diamond in the rough online one day and Eric Ligman was the listing agent. This was the smoothest large purchase we have ever made because of the diligence and excellent communication from Eric. One time I called him about a question I had and unbeknownst to me he was on vacation and he still returned my call within 10 minutes! He was so helpful in every single step of the purchasing process. Thank you Eric for your honesty and your thorough diligence. We couldn't be more pleased!!
