Fancy, top quality cuisine that feels rustic but is very popular. The dining areas are clustered in smaller sections and wait staff is well trained and organized to give excellent service. A busy night would not have an effect on fantastic attentiveness. You'd never know. The food is excellent and the variety of options is staggering.Food: 5/5
We were heading to the theater for the evening, and made 5:00 reservations. The place is absolutely stunning, eclectic vibe...I would want to say upscale funky vibe. I liked it. Our server John was very good. We ordered brussel sprouts and beets for appetizers. Both were excellent-but the nod had to go to the beets and I'm not even a big fan of beets!!.
Lovely staff who helped with food and cocktail recommendations. premium beverages and food; Great for an intimate date or a cute girl's night out with a small group. Pricey, but a wonderful place for a lovely evening.Food: 5/5
Unfortunately my friend and I had a poor experience here. We were excited to see a reservation was available as we’ve heard this is such a great spot. We had a reservation for 7:15pm. We were still ordering drinks at 9pm. We were minding our business the entire night, when the “bouncer” comes up to our table at 9pm, as we are still eating/drinking, and says “you girls have overstayed your reservation. What can I do to get you out of here?” I understand that they don’t want people sitting around, however we were still enjoying our meal/drinks after we had just spent almost $200 on two people. There were available seats downstairs as well. When I walked out of the restaurant, I sarcastically said “thanks” to the bouncer who basically kicked us out. He then followed me outside and accused me of shoving him in front of all of the other customers. He was basically yelling at me in the street after we sat quietly and paid $200 on 6 drinks at what is clearly an overrated restaurant. A time limit should clearly be listed on their reservation advertising if they treat people this way. I cannot imagine owning a business and kicking out a paying customer for “staying too long” as they are still enjoying their meal. I came here once pre-pandemic, and the food was sub par back then. This restaurant’s lack of evolution is embarrassing for Pittsburgh.
I ordered the buttermilk fried rabbit which tasted amazing. I also had the dirty pasta to start which was yummy as well. The restaurant atmosphere is very nice and homey. I came a second time a few weeks later and ordered the burger which also did not disappoint! My friend ordered the steak and said it was yummy as well. I think the rabbit is the most unique dish and worth a try though!
Fabulous experience! Great service, wonderful food, such a VIBE!
Really unique atmosphere. The ambiance is trendy and also romantic with a rustic flare. A nice touch of different styles. Highly recommend for a different Pittsburgh restaurant experience.Recommended dishesSteak Tartare
Great restaurant! The decor is wonderfully cozy and warm. There are oil lanterns at each table and amazing antique fixtures and glasses. The drinks are whiskey based and amazing, especially from the upper bar; it has it’s own menu. The food was equally amazing; we had scallops and rabbit and Dirty Pasta. We ended with apple bread pudding. It was good. You won’t be disappointed.
Super good! Second time back and it was even better this time! Had Brussels app which was fantastic and the Sunday gravy which was perfect! Mains courses were great and the drinks rocked! Our waitress was super friendly but not over pushy. Her recommendations were on point!
Part whisky bar part restaurant Butcher had a great atmosphere. There was a wall of various whisky bottles some were hard to find. They also various specialized cocktails. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful in selecting a drink. I enjoyed the meal as well. The place reminded me of a bar you would find in Manhattan.
