Super trendy spot with excellent vibes and ambiance. There are a variety of seating options from an outdoor area right next to the kitchen, a high top zone next to the bar, and then additional seating upstairs. The service we received was excellent from a friendly host to a great time with our waiter. In terms of food, I was very impressed with the chips and salsa, as well as the quality of tortillas. The tacos were also good, but I would have personally filled the tacos less as they began to fall apart. Drinks were tasty and strong. I would definitely come back next time I'm in Pittsburgh.
Very hip vibe - great decor but definitely loud and dark when seated upstairs. The food and drinks were phenomenal and the service was great and speedy. Awesome bar seating downstairs also. They have the option for heated outdoor seating in igloo tents which was really cool. Would definitely recommend to someone grabbing dinner and drinks in the city.
This place has a TON of tequilas to choose from and plenty of scrumptious margaritas to try them in but do not overlook their food menu. Even though there are only a handful of tacos on their menu, they pair pretty excellently with whatever it is you choose to drink. Try the mushroom tacos even if you're not vegetarian -- they look like pork BBQ and have the texture of fried chicken! It is rather loud plus we went during the holidays so they had even more colorful lighting than usual, and it can get crowded not sure if they have seating options for larger groups but it's a very fun atmosphere and a perfect kickstart to an evening downtown. Vegetarian options: There is really only one veggie taco option mushroom but it was fantastic!
Restaurant was amazing. It’s very small, intimate, and loud! Was almost like a nightclub with the option to eat. We got tacos, margaritas, and some starters. The star of the menu had to be the tuna guacamole! That was amazing! I did not get a picture because it got devoured immediately. The food was awesome and service was great. If I had to complain, I would say the music was a tad loud, especially on the upper level since you right next to the speakers. The decor is great, and they have just about every tequila you can think of.
I came with a party of 11 for my birthday. The food was great! I wanted to be adventurous with the grilled octopus taco, but that wasn't quite my cup of tea. The other tacos, however, were amazing. Everything is pretty much on point... from the margaritas to the deserts. Our server, Natane, was amazing! I can't emphasize enough how helpful she was. A truly genuine person who did the best possible job to ensure we all had a great time. That was really important, and we all appreciated the efforts!
A really great spot for some tacos! The food portions are generous and tasty. The staff are attentive and they have a good selection of Tequila available. Great for a pre-dinner snack or dinner before one of the events nearby. The Baja tacos were great! They also have outdoor seating to enjoy the good weather if need be!
Walked in on a Thursday night and was able to grab a seat at the outdoor counter. The tuna poke tostada was refreshing and quite good. Lots of flavors ever bite. The al pastor tacos were also great, though the I wish the avocado salsa was more pronounced. The tacos are huge, so even 2 one order should be enough. A little on the pricey side but overall a positive experience.
From the outside it looks like a tiny taco shop but it's gorgeous and two stories on the inside. The chandeliers and the lighting give this place such an interesting ambience. I ordered the queso fundito and the Korean tacos. The flank steak in the Korean tacos is so crisp and delicious and the peanut sauce really offset the spicy cucumber. All the food and drinks really compliment each other well.
My favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh. Period. Even before you come the tacos themselves, there are so many other items that will make you happy, as well as the cocktails. You should at least try chips, guacomole and papas bravas for appetizers. You can't go wrong with their tacos, although the octopus is probably a favorite. Absolute gem of a place. Highly recommend!
Literally the best tacos I've ever had. When you bite into food and physically can't keep your mouth shut because it makes you smile so hard you know you have something good. End of story, hands down, you need to go to Tako!
