Consistently disappoints. Weekly specials come around surprisingly once a week. I would like to give Cafe Rio money in exchange for this weekly special. But unfortunately Cafe Rio is not able to produce the service of making the weekly special. The first time it was understandable they were out, the second time was a little annoying but no big deal. The third time established pattern. So not sure if the Cafe Rio has the awareness of this situation. The last two times I choose to leave without any purchases. Is this a sign of power management or apathy to customer request. I thought it was a good quest but after a couple shrugs and “that’s the way it is” type comments I requested contact information of the absent manager. I was told contact information could not be provided. But I could call most morning. So if Cafe Rio or Betsy care please reach out. If not *shrug* *shrug* one less customer to try and serve for money. What are trying to run? A business?

Staffs at this location used to be very nice until recently. This whole place now is a mess. Service is bad. Management did nothing just let the workers play frisbee game throwing trays all over the place. Food line workers are tolerable. The night shift cashier is the worst ever. Extremely rude, treats customers with hostile. I don’t even know how he got hired. Anyway, we will never come back to this location.

Now this place is one off my all time favorites. Great food, great staff. Every time I eat here my food is perfect. I never get any static if I ask for more lettuce or less meat. Always a smile and making things enjoyable. Fast friendly service. They are the best. Yes, this location is my favorite, I hate to say it but there are a few out there that i would not revisit, period. There is a lot to be said for location, location, location.

Man, the service has gone down hill at this dump. Food, used to be good. Service, used to be quick. Local, used to be clean. Now, prices are higher, the food prep area is a disgrace, the servers should all be fired for their lack of dedication to good service and overall poor performance. Bottom line, go somewhere else. Maybe the Costa Vida right down the road? Maybe they even clean their restrooms?

(5/18/18) I used to love Cafe Rio. Now I struggle to go there just for a free meal. I still end up going there every now and again because I forget about my last venture, but it's getting to a point now where I get let-down every time I visit the place. Cafe Rio used to be outstanding! Their house dressing was second to none, and paired with their salads you could do no wrong. Now though?...I even have a gripe about the dressing getting too hot, it's quite unfortunate. As the day wanes, the whole service aspect starts to suffer. While they're usually spot on during the lunch rush (staff is ready and the food is fresh), I have to warn about going to this location during the evening. We came in during the 8 o'clock hour for a to-go order (closes at 11pm) and the preparation area was a wreck. Miscellaneous food scraps all over the preparation area, with more adding up as an employee was carelessly throwing ingredients into a cup. There was more rice on the counter than there was in the tray, for which when I had rice added to my salad I got less than half a scoop. I did receive a healthy portion of chicken, but it turns out that half of it was overcooked and dry. My wife requested some salsa fresca with her meal, and the employee scraped the dry stuff off the top just to get some on the meal. With meals backed up to the register, the cashier started working on a take-out order and didn't even bother asking us for payment, and even looked surprised when I asked where the cashier was so we could pay for our food and leave. Thinking about this visit the more it's bothering me, so I will just stop here before this truly turns into a rant. Just let it be sufficient enough to say that Cafe Rio has lost a long-time customer. I loved this place, it's sad to see it in this condition. (All locations in Utah Valley have gone downhill) TL;DR, Go here during lunch only. The food and service sucks at night.
