We love staying at the California. The amenities are great and service is wonderful. The casino is newly renovated, is spacious and there is a game for everyone. Their B-connect program provides fantastic room, food and casino incentives. They offer a shuttle service to other properties as well as to the outlet mall. The Fremot experience is just a block away.

I love visiting the California Hotel. It always feels safe and comforting. The staff is helpful and happy. They really know how to go above and beyond to treat each guest as ohana without making you feel like a"customer." Great food and amenities. Love the vibe here! Always cheerful and positive. The rooms are updated, clean, and comfortable. Hot showers, huge TV, and big, clean comfy beds! ☺️ I will be back several times per year as always.

I've been coming to Sam Boyd's casinos every since I was a young kid as my dad loves Las Vegas and we used to come at least three times a year.  One of his favorite places to stay at is the California Hotel.  I have seen so many renovations and transformations like making the Rosewood steak house a dark and kind of romantic to a modern and hip places that is warm and inviting, to the building of the new and improved wing and even now the original side (by check-in) is also nicely renovated. The rooms are totally renovated. They have nice big flat screen TV's, nicely done bathrooms (I'm talking about tiled walls from the floor to the ceiling) as well as the nice spacious sink area.  One thing that has never changed is the warm smiles and the aloha spirit which is why so many locals from Hawaii as well as others keep on coming. 

One thing people love is to do is to eat.  People from Hawaii being away from home, they have to have certain things like their sticky rice and local favorites. The hotel has a number of places to from their first floor also on their second level and if you want to go to the Main Street hotel there is a walkway on the second floor that connects the two. 

I still come to Las Vegas at least once or twice a year and I always like staying here.  Thanks California Hotel for all your hospitality.

I came here for dinner at their Hawaiian inspired restaurant ( can't recall the name ) and it was excellent. The oxtail soup was amazing! Very diverse menu. Staff was friendly albeit a little uneducated on menu items. They still went above and beyond to answer any questions. I would def. recommend this place to a friend.

We stayed here this past June. It was my first time here and it was recently renovated. The rooms were nicely done and had shower stalls rather than bath tubs. I much prefer the shower setup. We asked for a  room close to the elevator and got what we wanted. Not much of a view other than the water supply company. 

The location was just fine for us. It was a close walk to the Fremont street experience and the other casinos and shops. There is no buffet here but a short walk to the Main Street fixes that. I will also add that the Cal has a very good steakhouse called the Redwood Restaurant. We had the prime rib and bone-in rib eye steak. The cuts are huge and overly generous with the flavor spot on. Two thumbs up to this restaurant as we were pleasantly surprised! The service was great as one would expect and considering the total environment a spectacular deal. Definitely WORTH IT! Please give it a try. 

Overall a nice, enjoyable stay. Would've been better if we won a little at the casino...
