Very nice park. The camping sites look excellently maintained, the restrooms are nicely maintained, and it has miles upon miles of hiking trails. Infact I spent about 2.5 hours one day on a single trail and was unable to find the end. It's an excellent park and definitely makes my list of favorite parks.

Immediately impressed upon arrival because the staff knew the forecast was hot and windy so they recommended us to a more shady protected site in the upper campground (we had a tent). Very caring and kind staff! Shower building and vault toilets remodeled and very clean! Yes, there are trains nearby, but it you don't mind being roused a few times over night, it's well worth it for how nice of a park this is!

Wonderful park. Would recommend the lower loop campground for families with kids to be close to play areas and swimming. We stayed at the upper loop site 44 with a fantastic view of the valley below and the sunset was fantastic. 4 star because of train that runs through park.

I Took the family to Camden State Park for a Memorial Day Weekend camping trip. We live in the Twin Cities, and it was about a 3 hour drive for us. It is a beautiful state park, and the staff at the visitors center was so friendly, and very helpful. We camped in the upper campground. The restrooms and showers were some of the cleanest and nicest that I have seen at a state park. We did some hiking on the beautiful trials, and explored the Redwood River. I tried to do some fly fishing, but the river seemed a bit high, and it was not possible to wade. The spring fed pool, and playground area at the lower campground area is very nice. We did some fishing at the lake, and caught some small pan fish and bass. Overall, I really enjoyed this State Park, except for ONE small thing: The train that goes through right beside the campground blowing the horn at all hours, including 5 am on a Sunday morning! That is why I gave this a 4 star instead of 5.
