I was having some issues with what I believed to be my alternator and my battery and I am new to town so I was cautious when choosing a mechanic to go to. After some preliminary testing (nothing that requires tools) and getting a battery, I came to the conclusion that it had to be my alternator that caused the battery to drain that killed the battery in the first place. I called Car Craft and they gave me a very reasonable quote for an alternator replacement, in fact it was less than anywhere else. I took my car (Lexus IS350) to Car Craft and soon after they told me that the alternator was fine and that there was nothing wrong with the battery either. They also said there were no signs of any parasitic drain so we came to the conclusion that it must have been a faulty battery, but I also drive over 4 times the average person does in a year, approximately 65,000 miles a year so that might be an additional factor. Either way, they charged me $26 for the time my car was on the lift because nothing was wrong and off I went. They could have easily charged me what they had initially quoted and put in a new alternator anyway and I would have never noticed the difference. I just found my mechanic for the duration of my stay in Athens.

TL;DR They are honest, fair, and well-mannered. Make them your first call for repairs.

Highly recommend. Everyone there is super friendly and helpful. It was hard to find a place that would work on my VW after the check engine light went off, but Car Craft stepped up to the challenge and my car is now back on the road! Plus, they kindly emailed me explaining in detail what was going on with my car, which I greatly appreciated.

I took my BMW to Car Craft after another shop recommended them for their work on European cars. I appreciate that Steve and a mechanic took the time to test drive the car with me to diagnose the problem and Kevin and Joel did a great job in terms of customer service. The car running smoothly again.

I'd been looking for a local VW shop other than the dealer to work on my GTI.  I've passed Car Craft on Hawthorne hundreds of times over the years but never went in to check it out.  I went in last week and was pleasantly surprised when they walked me inside the shop to see an old VW bug on the lift!  One of their mechanics is VW certified and owns a Passat.  Kevin and staff were very helpful and friendly, and my problem was fixed in reasonable time and at a fair cost.  I will definitely give them my business in the future.
