I know with shrewd negotiating and being willing to play hardball you can get better prices at other dealerships than here... but, I'd gladly pay slightly more to not have to deal with the high pressure hard sales that are par for the course at other dealerships, the little extra price is more than worth how simple and easy the buying process is (from walking on the lot to driving off took me less time here than the last car I bought took just to settle on the monthly payment), plus the quality of vehicles is quite good.  Oh, and while I have yet to use the service department, from what I've seen from other people I know who use them, they do a pretty good job at a reasonable price.

I shopped a lot online before choosing CarMax. I had them ship a truck from another CarMax location realizing I'd have to pay for the shipping even if i didn't like the truck. My contact, Trevor, was extremely clear, helpful and not pushy at all. He called the other location to ensure the truck was in great shape before I paid for it to be shipped and when it arrived, I could not have been more surprised by the quality of the vehicle. I was looking for something to be wrong and found one screw missing on the gas cap (which they fixed on the spot). After 3 weeks with the truck, I'm still very pleased and impressed by the quality of the CarMax experience in Reno.

My experience at CarMax was not great at all.  My sales person Logan was not knowledgeable about the vehicle when it came to the service department.  He told me my damaged bumper (damaged during transport from San Antonio to Reno) could be pounded out but that I would have to pay for a new plastic top bumper piece.  It turned out that the bumper had to be replaced.  When the new bumper was put on, it wasn't bolted in all the way and it was not centered.  I had to take the vehicle back 3 different times.  The windshield had to be replaced a second time because the guys at the San Antonio CarMax put in a new windshield but didn't put it in properly.  Michael who appraised my prior vehicle pulled the rubber molding back on my drivers door and left it that way when he gave it back to me.  I had to take my vehicle to Diamond Auto Body so they could center the bumper and make sure it was bolted in properly.  I won't buy another vehicle from CarMax.

I had spent two weeks at a local dealership negotiating for a fair price.  I gave up and my husband suggested CarMax.  We had our new car in three days!  The sales person was wonderful and let us test drive the car three times before the purchase as well as test drive other cars of the same make/model just to see if there were any differences.  We are totally satisfied with the whole experience.  My last new car was 17 years ago.  I now have a car with very low miles and looks like new.  So much fun to drive again!

I sold a car to CarMax today and have to share how impressed I was with every aspect of the experience!  Rondell was my first contact - he took great care to school me on what I needed to know and happily answered all my questions.  Matt did the appraisal and was so friendly and upbeat I had to smile.  Angie tied things up also with a smile and efficiency:)  The process moved along and each person was very professional.  I really appreciated the NO PRESSURE environment - so unlike most dealerships.  Any/all car business going forward with be with CarMax for sure!
