Modern American Cuisine in Penn Quarter

Story

Recreating a fresh air feeling from enjoying nature's wild beauty in a polished urban style, Chef Aaron McCloud uses farm-sourced and seasonal ingredients to serve a contemporary take on wild game, sausages, and salmon. He highlights mushrooms, herbs, forage berries, and greens to accommodate our vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diners.

Went there for dinner with colleagues. Amazing vegan and non alcoholic options for the varied group. Plus, the table we had was sectioned off, making it feel like we had our own restaurant. Amazing dinner!

Went for restaurant week. Great quality, fine service, drinks were great, but compared to other options it's not too memorable, specifically when it came to dessert. Solid choice regardless, can't really go wrong for an upscale date night, and it overall seems worth the price

Service was slacking. It took mutiple request to get a drink refill. I had the Vegan Vegetable Ravioli, and it was pretty good. I'm not a vegan eater, so I don't know how hard it is to find good vegan food. So if it is, maybe this is a good option for you. But for this price point and non-vegans, I feel like you would do better at Le Diplomate or Birch and Barley. Overall, service was disappointing, food was good but not at this price, and atmosphere is great for a romantic or quiet setting.

Cedar is a great place to go for a diverse and classy fine dining experience that avoids the crazier price levels of more well known restaurants in the area.

Underground restaurant that was awkwardly empty when we went after the Caps game a few blocks away. But the wine was good, the food was good, and there were plenty of great vegan options. It was an excellent dinner, despite our initial feelings walking in.
