We are Charleston KOA! Since our establishment in 1970, we have worked hard to provide excellent customer service and satisfaction for our campers.

Story

You'll know this campground is special the minute you drive through the entrance. Azaleas, oaks and loblolly pines give a signature touch to its Lowcountry charm. Nearby, the historic Magnolia Plantation and Middleton Place feature beautiful gardens. Beat the summer heat at Whirlin' Waters Adventure Waterpark (located within North Charleston Wannamaker County Park). Attractions abound in lovely Charleston, where horse-drawn carriages clip-clop along the historic harbor. Tour Fort Sumter National Monument, where the Civil War began, and the aircraft carrier USS Yorktown. �Get a glimpse once �in a while of the C-17 aircraft and �the�Boeing�Dream lifter� make their way toward the Joint Base and the Airport near by. Bring a group - the campground has a great recreation building with a full kitchen and meeting facilities. An exciting addition to this KOA is the family lodge accommodation - a fun home-away-from-home that sleeps up to eight people.Pool: March 15 - October 15. Max pull thru: 70 feet. The staff is nice but they suck! Been there 4 months and have seen multiple water problems. The workers cut thru the cable line, so no TV for a month now! Last week we had a shooting with a police standoff. SWAT, EMS, and Channel 4 news! 40 cops at least! Now to top it off the weekly rate has been raised to $309 per week! In addition, loud music coming from adjacent mobile home park all hours of the night...

Staying in a cabin with my wife for a couple days to see Charleston. Overall good and clean, not a destination KOA, but cool for a couple nights. Shower water is a little temp unsteady when laundry is getting done....beware! Trailer park right next door but so far so good.

Sweet people nice place with a trailer park attached. We'll keep. It really need more grass there is a lot of dirt.

Stayed in a cabin, the mattress were so comfy comparetively to other cabins in other KOAs. Beautiful campground. Funny story: there were 2 stray cats that were fighting right outside of our cabin. By no means is this the campgrounds fault, I just thought it was really funny story. This one cat kept growling at the other cat and I thought I was having a bad dream. I wake up to see two cats "calling each other out" and then when cat suddenly attacks the other. I've never seen cats fight like that in my life! And I've had cats all my life! My husband and I were groggy from being woken up but we're laughing hysterically the next day.

Staff was very attentive and plesant. Cabin was not that clean or well kept. Upon arriving at our cabin my wife noticed a couple of big bugs over the cabin door. After bugs were dispatched and opening the door we noticed some kind of dirt on the mattress. We contacted one of the staff they cleaned the mattress. Later I discovered that it is impossible to take a hot shower the water only gets warm.The following morning we discovered a large roach carcass on the floor next to the bed. We felt for the money spent for the cabin should have been in better condition. Oh I left the best part out, there was a big depression that held water just in front of the cabin #3. Needless to say it was very challenging to get to and from the car to the cabin without getting in standing water and mud. They did have gravel for the parking area but none from the parking to the cabin. Other cabins may be nice but we got a substandard one. We should have stayed some other place.
