Had a motor replaced and had problems from the start.  It wasn't the mechanics fault and I thought it was the transmission.  Took it back in months later to have them look for a problem.  After three weeks they couldn't find a problem and they said the motor was good and to have a transmission shop look at it.  Took it to another shop three days later and within a day they determined the motor was bad and that it wasn't making enough compression because of blow by.  Coast Auto told me they did a compression check and that it was at 160 pounds but the other shop showed me the compression and it was barely 120.  They charged me $500 and basically told me half truths.  I've spent a lot of money at Coast Auto but they won't get another dime from me.

After some misunderstanding about expectations, which was possibly my own fault, they went out of their way to make good on it. Above and beyond what I’d have expected. I’m impressed.

was visiting my family here in town while my Ac went out so i brought my car in to get fixed. then by time i got to bay area it broke again, no big deal stuff happens, well few months later i was visiting when my transmission went out on me so i left my car with them again for weeks it seemed like, got it back ran great but the servce tech didnt even bolt it down and it caused MORE problems, havent been back but unfortunately my mother took her vehicle in to get new tires. AND WHEN PULLING OFF THE 101 THE WHEEL FELL OFF! horrible place. and seems like carol the service manage has no clue what is going on. complete dumb ass
