I had to write this to warn any decent Kenyans thinking of seeking any help via waste of tax payers money. Be it dual citizenship, visa, pp. This is just an exported typical Kenya government office, and a reminder of why we will always be a lagging, developing culture. A consulate is there to serve citizens of the country abroad. So just lower your expectations before any engagement with these fellows. -For starters, the webpage is in dire need of updating. It's too busy and instructions are unclear. Knowing Kenyans, this was my first route. -When you call and if they answer-Ask questions. Ask what is needed be it for visa, passport etc. -The consulate is useless, whereas staff may be civil-they have no training on diplomacy, or even basic empathy. If you walk in there you will be spoken to through a window with a hole like those shady banks eg Postbank . Or maybe had I been a jungu she would have welcomed me, and sat me down and explain what I needed to do. As I left I just wondered. I've had better treatment at the local DMV. The lady couldn't even give me the forms knowing I had challenges with the vagueness and duplicity of the site. I had flown hundreds of miles; no empathy. Perhaps the next question was going to be 'Nyumbani ni wapi'. Moral of the story. This is just like any other office in Jogoo House. Good luck. Pissed

When will we ever get our act together????? I'm sick and tired as I know most Kenyan's are of mediocrity. What is wrong with the Kenyan embassy in the U.S, I thought Ambassador Githae was a performer, a reformer who was supposed to clean house and put things in order but I'm afraid that the pathological lethargy bug caught him too. When you have to call the Canadian Embassy from the USA to get answers and one is given prompt and courteous service it leaves me begging the question, "What curse befell the Kenyan embassy in Washington?". They say the apple does not fall far from the tree, the L.A consulate is no different than Washington as far as service delivery is concerned, I guess they learned from the best. Mr Githae , this pathological lethargy is a reflection of your leadership and your implicit if not explicit complacency in the way things are done. Why are phones never answered in any department at the embassy....... ever, why don't you have a direct email we can reach you on, why aren't you on social media e.g. twitter etc, why don't we have a grievance process/mechanism, what did you come to Washington to do?. The Washington mission under your leadership leaves a lot to be desired and that's being polite. Ambassador Githae, we deserve better than this raw deal we are currently getting from you and your delegation. I hope and pray that God gives you the foresight and wisdom to do what needs to be done and make the necessary changes for the sake of Kenya, Kenyans in the U.S, current and potential investors and tourists/visitors who intend to visit Kenya. Very disappointed Kenyan.

This place is horrible! The secretary does not know how to give instructions on any of the paperwork. They have no idea what they are doing. I asked them if I could print the passport application online they said no. Called again and they said yes. The only reason I could come is only if you truly have too. This place is horrible😡
