@Greg Solomon.....it's spelled Colombia. Not Columbia. Don't need to visit the Colombian Consulate to apply to teach in Columbia.............dude, you spelled it incorrectly each time. If you're going to talk trash about our embassy, at least spell it right. @Ben Incahutz.....really? That's why you're in America? To avoid dealing with offices that take multiple lunch breaks and all??...yeah, good thing you came. That doesn't fly here #areyouserious

My last two experiences in this consulate had been very good, I had to wait but not excessively, the Consul herself at some point came to help her staff to facilitate the process, the people were cordial and I got my new Colombian Passport and some documents notarized with no problem at all. Having a good attitude, and smiling go a long way!

WARNING!!!!! DO NOT come to this consulate to process your visa application. You will be disappointed. A friend of mine submitted an application for a visa to teach in Columbia at this consulate in June. She visited the consulate each week for 7 weeks to see if her visa was ready and was told to come back next week. They only process them on Tuesday when Angelica is there. She is intentionally not processing visa applications which is leading to a lot of people walking away frustrated and not getting the service they deserve. It is a disgrace to the country of Columbia to have such poor and horrid service at one of their consulate offices. My friend was forced to pay a fee that her school had already paid (double pay) and in the end was told since it the application was submitted over a month ago, my friend had to reapply all over again. Her work assignment stated one week before she was finally told to reapply after 7 weeks of waiting. Unfortunately, she may lose the teaching opportunity in Columbia after having quit her regular teaching job to accept this seemingly wonder opportunity. Angelica is the person who she spoke with and was dealing with and in the end the one who dropped the ball forcing my friend to have to reapply and again possibly lose her teaching opportunity. It is a travesty this is allowed to occur. Someone who really cares needs to intervene to see that this does not happen in the future to others simply trying to visit and work in this amazingly beautiful country. Do yourself a favor and make the drive up to San Francisco Columbia Consulate instead of taking a chance at the one in Los Angeles.

I am proud to be Colombian. a consulate should be the representation of a country elsewhere. Unfortunately this place is the perfect example of lack of professionalism, respect, excessive bureaucracy and corruption surrounding our country Colombia. From us as citizens who make use of the services and those who do their work in this place, get ready for a truly horrible experience Those working there for us as colombian citizens do not exercise their work at the most of the expectations. The paperwork and fees are too high for the service we received, there's no respect or a minimum of cordiality for offices next. People from offices next constantly come and ask people to behave properly. Going to this place is a visit to a zoo without rules or restrictions. I really hope someone with authority will read this and made the changes here should be done. Because isn't only the service but their schedule of working hours. They work 5 hours at the most and then they closed. Thank you for your time to read this and correct the worse experience ever at this Colombian Consulate in Los Angeles.

I'm proud to be Colombian but this place makes me question my pride every time I need to go there. I mean seriously. The people that work there are freaking idiots. They hate their job and make sure that you know it. They never answer the phone and if your spanish is terrible like mine, they just hang up on you. When you go in person they just roll their eyes and sigh and take multiple "lunch" breaks. That crap might fly back in Colombia but I'm in America for a reason . . . .
