There's a guy here called "Edwin." He is the most patient person I have ever seen in a Nigerian business. His great customers skills changed my views about Nigerian businesses. He is such a great employee that any business should keep. He answers questions politely even when you ask too many questions. He goes all the way to ensure that you get helped.

I booked two flight tickets from Dallas to go to Atlanta to renew my passport and my Dad's. One day before the trip, the website stated that their systems are down. Delta said it wasn't a good reason to refund me my money, so i lost all of it. The people came to Dallas on July the 28th and told us our passport will be ready in a month. It is almost a month and I called over there and the first agent responded, " me i don't know oooo" When i pushed to get more info on the status, she came back and said that they haven't even started Dallas. The organizers in Dallas stated that the new lady was asking for bride and they refused and that is why she is delaying Dallas applicants. They haven't started working on our application a month later, yet they are going to Arkansas this coming weekend to collect more money. Apparently they will be charging the people in Arkansas more money than they did in Dallas. They arbitrarily raise the fees yet fail to deliver. There is no accountability! It is such a shame that we as Nigerians here in America cannot hold these people accountable. If we fail here in America, what hopes do we have to change Nigeria. The lady that came to Dallas needs to be fired! she is incompetent. She is shamelessly corrupt and we all need to speak up and against this level of corruption. I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau today and I need everyone that is reading this to contact the BBB as well. Do it for your country. Do it for yourself and do it for your children!!!! So far, i have lost money on my flight tickets, I have spent extra money here in Dallas, and I might need to drive all the way to Atlanta from Dallas to get my passport. Why does it have to be this way???? why???/

My experience at the consulate office in Atlanta was beyond amazing. Before going to the passport office, I came online to read reviews and the bad reviews terrified me. As a result, I wasn't looking forward to going to Atlanta. I came all the way from Texas so you can imagine how stressed up I was upon arrival. However, my experience was the exact opposite of what I expected. Now, I know reviews online should never be believed. The members of staff were so, so kind to me. The level of kindness shown me is beyond what I can describe. Even Big Willy who works at the gate was exceptional! I got my passport the very same day without any hassles. They made sure I was comfortable. I felt like I had arrived home, seeing such warmth being directed my way. I definitely made a lot of friends in one day. Big Willy, Abdul, Kadiri, Frank and the rest of the members of staff at the consulate, thank you for your kindness and for proving that Nigerians are the friendliest in the world. I promised myself I would come online to give my review so others can know that the negative reviews here are not a true reflection of what the Consulate's office really is. Sure, I had to wait for a spell before getting my passport but it was worth it in the end.

Poooor pooor pooor and rude customer service. Everybody acting like they hate their job or you’re just stressing them out. This ‘pius’ guy rude af.. they gotta change up things over there just too disorderly.. try to make inquires they make a fool out of you..I just couldn’t bear it. It is the Nigerian consulate for crying out loud and that’s where Nigerians should find solace. It doesn’t even deserve a star. There’s this other guy, pretty aged and I think he works with the security and he’s pretty decent and that’s it. The rest trash. The edventure place is cool tho with young people over there helping out.

The responsiveness of the staff at the consulate to my passport renewal was very impressive. My wife booked my flight to Atlanta for Jan 5, 2017 while I filled an online application with a payment of the application fee and bought a money order for an expedited, one-day delivery. I prayed up, asking GOD to intervene, having read the review of the activities of the staff and snail-like processing. I arrived the Atlanta airport, boarded a train to the last stop at North Springs station at Dunwoody (about 45 minutes). I alighted and boarded a bus to Pitts Road junction (about 9mins) because I had limited funds for unbargained trips; so, taking a taxi was not an option for me. I scurried to the consulate and presented my documents (expired passport, print out of application form, money order, and a passport photo) which were used to create a file for me. I proceeded to the lounge facing the processing room and submitted my file. Few minutes later, they called me for the verification of my profile information and biometrics. The man in charge of the biometrics and photo capture was very courteous and friendly. Having completed the biometrics, I had to wait for some minutes and was asked to call back the next day. This was against my personal bargain; so, I had to plead, informing them of how far I had traveled and the fever that gripped me. I praised the understanding of Mrs. Angela (who, in a seemingly humorous gesture, asked me to go and take plenty of water for my cold) and Mrs. Bola because they were awesome. To my amazement, I got my passport SAME day! However, I was patient (to be sincere). My observation: There was only one person who handles the biometrics, confirmation of profile, and photo capture. They do not have such sophisticated equipment for photo capture as we do know in Nigeria. Same for the processing of the passports. This is an office where batch-processing is expected. They are not adequately staffed and have limited facilities, yet they are trying their best. Wish I could volunteer. Apparently, they have been inundated with a lot of challenges, and I wish the government can do something about it because, in the absence of the requisite tools, operational delays are inevitable in such an environment. So, having understood their plights and was impressed by their efficiency, I give them an encouraging five stars.
