Terrific, attentive service! I'm quite wary of bike shops as often the staff can be dismissive of the casual cyclist. I have a beloved 30 yr old bike which other shops won't look at. Danny's not only tuned it up to perfection, but shared my enthusiasm for my bike, didn't try to sell me an expensive new one. All work done within 24 hours. So nice to have such expert, personal service in this big city.

Great shop, has just about anything you could need as a city cyclist. Cannot compete with free tune ups with a bike purchased here. I was helped out by Mike and he was super legit.

Came in for a gear related fix, and now my bike is smooth as butter!

They took apart my old bike and put it back together in a day and made it look and run like new again. I forgot how nice it was to have a tuned up bike. I didn't feel like I was sold anything I didn't need and I'm definitely recommending Danny's to my Dutch friends who cycle every day. Sensibly priced too. Thanks!

Update: 3/2017 This is now Danny's Cycles instead of metro cycles. Went in yesterday to check prices- Wheel tru: $30 labor + $2 per spoke replacement ====== Original post from 2014: I've come here about a dozen times, and like you would expect in a bad relationship - I keep hoping things will be different only to be disappointed and left beat up. Service is always very 'whatever' - and air of dismissal or 'you don't matter' is extremely present at this location. Employees usually look very bored in this very sterile space. I work near here so if my bike breaks down I go - other wise I would never ever come here. Their location on 6th ave north of 14th st has much more genuine employees. Prices feel more expensive than every other bike shop I have visited in Manhattan and Brooklyn over my 5 years of biking in the city, plus the cost of the service being bad almost every time I've given them my money. You would think the flagship location would be the best. Wrong.
