We went to CA to visit someone and needed to find last-minute accommodations near their hospital. Ended up at this location. Rooms were clean, staff was warm & friendly. Free internet was available a but it was a bit slow...best for email & browsing. Free continental breakfast was offered; it was catered by the restaurant attached to the hotel (Jolly Roger), so it was really tasty. There is a laundry room available, front office offers quarters for cash. I took off two stars because the appearance of the hotel & room was great basic. There were very limited options on the TV & amenities. We didn't check out the outdoor pool because it was too cold.

Not sure if my expectations are too high...but I did not like this hotel From the check-in experience (one person, slow computers), to the aesthetics of the hotel itself (severely outdated, horrible carpeting and lighting in the hallways, elevator/stairways out of a horror movie) and then the room... Just dated. Everything was not new. Linen were fresh but definitely not white anymore. Bathroom was okay but the shower stall definitely had it's stains in the corners and crevices. From my room I could hear people walking through the hallway crystal clear and through the walls. The breakfast offered was okay, nothing to complain about outside of a couple of unwanted guests at breakfast (I'm fairly confident they were not guests of the hotel...one possibly being homeless, as they just waltzed right in and started stocking up on food and just smelled horrible as well). Overall, I'm making sure I tell our events coordinator to never book us there again.

Ok. so first of all let me say that I spent a lot of money with these guys. I had stayed a total of about 20 days so they had no reason to treat me like this. I had a small service dog with me (8 pound dog that doesn't make a noise) and they knew it from the beginning. I showed them my license and there wasn't any more issues. Well after about day 20 I got a call from the front desk (the same lady that had been there from the beginning) right after I got to my room. She told me my service dog had to be on a leash. Which IS NOT TRUE. That is not what the law states. Anyone can look it up and I instructed her to do so. The dog stays next to me the whole time by the way and never strays. VERY disciplined. Anyway I instructed the lady to look at the law or I could read it for her , which I did. I explained there shouldn't be any more issues and if there were my attorney could easily explain it. Well that seemed to be enough to have the hotel manager (an Indian guy) outright attack me. He threatened to call the cops if I wasn't out in 5 minutes! I explained I needed to get my stuff and he said if it a minute longer than the time I had paid for he would charge me anyways and call the cops. A REAL jerk. Well I made it out as quickly as I could but I ended up losing about $350 in cash and my personal medication. I tried to get it back later but they wouldn't admit to it and they just kept it.

Hotel compound is all fenced up supposedly due to the unsafe surrounding. You do feel unsafe once you are out of the hotel fences and neighbourhood. There is free parking available but sometimes hard to find spaces. Receptionist was neither friendly nor rude. Free simple breakfast is provided. The room amenities and cleanliness is acceptable.

The rooms are okay here, but they lack so many amenities. They also are pretty inflexible to guest requests. For the price, you can do much better.
