Difficult Campground is a great location 3 mi from Aspen and close to the hike, bike, paddle preserve. Campground site 11 beside the creek was perfect. We sat on log and rested our feet in the creek after hiking Maroon bells. Difficult c.g. is an easy bike ride into Aspen which is preferable because car traffic is crazy.

What a georgous campground. The sites are pretty well spaced and there is lots of dense foliage between sites making them somewhat private. The price is a little high for very few amenities but we really enjoyed our stay.

Nice little campground about 9 mins outside of Aspen. There are some trails and a close by little river to float. There are no showers but there is a bear box at ever camp site big enough to fit 2 normal sized coolers. This is bear country so be bear aware.

Often no tents allowed because of bears.  Trail is often steep. Campground can hear highway noise, but not bad.
