Story

Fish for browns and rainbows in Beaverhead River, a blue-ribbon stream bordering this campground, with mountain views in every direction. Take in views of three mountain ranges from the pool while the kids ride around on KOA's banana bikes. Join in ice cream socials most summer nights. Visit the petting farm (open 9–11 a.m. and 4–6 p.m.) with its ducks, geese, chickens, rabbits, lambs, goats and mini horses. The cost is only 10 cents per year of age for little ones and $2 for adults. Nearby, visit four sites along the trail forged by explorers Lewis and Clark. Hike, fish and tour a ghost town at Bannack State Park. Drive east to Yellowstone National Park, passing through the frontier gold camp of Virginia City. Northwest of Dillon, hunt for crystals at Crystal Park. On Labor Day weekend, Dillon welcomes a professional rodeo. Extra charge for additional guests (adults and children) at KOA.

This is the most hospitable and wonderful experience we've had at a KOA. Our hosts Bob and Pam were such kind and accommodating people. We were passing through and they allowed us to use the dump and fill water for a nominal fee and then we ended up staying for several days. They were just wonderful. We will be back. Clean and well maintained grounds, clean facilities, great sites.

Wonderful people who really tried to help. We were staying in West Yellowstone, and had planned to stay here. Due to smoke we had to leave a day early. Bob was helpful band even moved reservations around to be able to accommodate us a night early. By the time we got there so had the smoke and the asthma was bad. Once again helpful and understanding, as we canceled the three night stay. We will be back, the pool looked great and so did the pet accommodations. Can't wait for a return trip.

Let me begin on a positive note. The staff and grounds are lovely! Very friendly reception and service, and the grounds (grass, gravel, trees, etc) are all well maintained and clean. However, cleanliness and the pool cannot be used in the same sentence. As someone with significant knee issues, we always choose parks that have pools to allow for exercise and joint mobility work. We went to the pool this evening and observed the following: there were no steps at the shallow end - the only entrance to the pool was the ladder in the deep end, or the slide. I will point out that diving is not allowed. We also noticed a green hue but thought it must only be the colour of the pool itself so we did go in via the deep end ladder. To our horror, once in the pool we immediately saw that the green hue was due to the filth of the pool. This is not a matter of dirty spots, but a matter of the entire circumference of the pool being caked with grime - from the top of the wall to the bottom of the pool. Along with the grime, which in itself was bad enough, there was an unpleasant odour. As soon as we were in, we exited and headed for the showers. Any positive vibe we had on entering the park was stifled by the truly appalling condition of the pool. We would NOT recommend staying here.

Beautiful grassy grounds with tent sites right on the river. Benches even provided! Best grassy dog area we have ever seen...large enough for lots if running! Super friendly hosts. All facilities clean and nice. Loved it!
