About

Yellowstone KOA Campground 6 miles West of West Yellowstone, MT on US 20. Five minutes from the West Entrance. www.yellowstonekoa.com twitter.com/YellowstoneKOA

Story

Just five minutes from Yellowstone's west entrance at West Yellowstone, Montana (the most popular and convenient entry point), you'll find a pine-shaded site that is the perfect base camp for exploring the world's first national park. Old Faithful puts on its steamy regular-as-clockwork show just 30 miles east. Have a tour bus pick you up at KOA's office for a ride to the park. Or take the wheel yourself to tour Yellowstone's driving loops. The area offers horseback riding, world-class fly-fishing, whitewater rafting, a nightly Old West Rodeo and hiking and biking trails that begin at the KOA. Return for a soak in the indoor pool and hot tub housed in a classic Montana log building. Fuel up with a latte and pancakes every summer morning and barbecue each evening. Save room for the delicious homemade fudge sold in the campground store!

This was a really nice camp ground. They had an indoor swimming pool, mini golf outdoor kitchen. They also had a wonderful outdoor restaurant. They served ribs, homemade baked beans, corn on the cob, ect. It was all delicious. The only downside to this campground was the row of camp spots along the side. Where we were. They are on a hill. So we spent the entire night sliding out of our beds and climbing back in, just to have to do it all over again. And again. That wasn't much fun. But the rest of the campground is great. Definitely go. Just don't get stuck with a spot on the far left hand side.

Best place to stay. Staff was friendly. Amenities are clean and well maintained. We go there at 1AM and there was a guy there to guide us to our spot. So impressed. They made it easy.

Yellowstone is gorgeous! Old faithful was a little underwhelming but only because people hype it up so high. It was so peaceful and serene. Such a relaxing time.

We enjoyed our short time here. Very easy access to Yellowstone National Park. Burning was allowed in provided fire pits so we pulled out our chairs and ate dinner in front of our fire. Restrooms, showers and laundry room were well maintained and clean. Everything worked. Nice quiet place.

The absolute best KOA I've ever stayed at. There's an Olympic sized indoor pool. The staff is super friendly. Just a short drive to West Yellowstone gate. Perfect base camp location. Call ahead and reserve.
