I give it five stars, because the pros outweigh the cons. They have very reasonable rates for most rooms, the place is beautiful, the staff is amazing and the buffet is huge and amazing as well. It is pet friendly, and a lot of friendly pets left their business cards around the building, so if you're on a date with that special someone and you're sitting outside admiring the beautiful landscape and you smell something, don't accuse each other, blame it on the dog. In Double Tree's defense, they have poochie poop bag stations everywhere. I was very impressed with how staff stayed up on maintaining the elevators, plumbing, traffic and other issues that come when you have a youth summit of over eight churches,as well as other conferences and families. You won't be disappointed.

My co-worker was the one staying at this hotel but from what I saw this hotel is just okay. They said they were putting my coworker in a newly renovated room but upon entering the room it seemed like a typical normal room. I suppose it is good news, who knows what the old room looked like. However, my co-worker's shower did not work so I supposed it's a work in progress. They gave my coworker points for his trouble and all was well I'm the end.

We stayed here for 3 or 4 nights, when our Mother fell and was life-flighted to Kansas City Brain Trauma ICU. Despite an ice storm, extremely frigid temperatures well below zero ( -20f +) and an pipe that froze ( freak thing, our room jutted out a ways from the building) we were treated so compassionately, and the staff went out of their way to help us in any way they were able. After 3 days & nights not leaving the hospital, I'm sure when we checked in they wondered ( by our appearance) if we were just totally exhausted, or if the Zombie Acopolypse had begun. What a welcome , and peaceful stay we had. The rooms are very soundproof, they were extremely clean, and our every need was met. Even though we were in a good part of town, they had a security officer making round throughout the nights. If we ever have a need to stay in that area again,, we will definitely opt for this Hotel.

Be ware of what floor they put you on. Stayed on the 17th floor that I was told was fully renovated. FAKE NEWS!!! Had banging coming from each side and what also felt like above and below. Was a nightmare. Also renovated rooms... not quite. Surge plugs were used as there is not enough plugs in the room. Will say...like always the bed is super comfortable.

Nice rooms, very friendly receptionist. Very fluffy bath towels. The only thing is the heater doesn't seem to work well but might just be my room. It's set at 82 degrees at this point and still feels like 68.
