Everything was extremely run down and there was a piece of plywood covering a hole up in the ceiling in the hallway. The room had a dingy, not cleaned well feeling to it, it could have been just because of the age but it was quite disappointing. Also, from the website it made you feel like you like you might catch a glimpse of Mt Rushmore from some of the pictures but it was about 15 minutes away and completely not possible. The hotel was definitely in a less attractive area than the average tourist area as there was a run down trailer park across the street and random people just sitting on the side of the road. Nothing happened while we were there, but it was not an area where my husband was comfortable letting me run to the car for something by myself. I agree you get what you pay for, so I was expecting anything super nice but it was considerably below what I would expect for the price range.

I stayed here with my family this past week and we all agreed this was one of the most pleasant experiences we've had with a hotel recently. The rooms were really nice, the complimentary breakfast was wonderful- I always love waffles- and the customer service was exemplary. They were extremely helpful and kind at the front desk, especially when we had questions. The pool looked great, but we were too busy sightseeing to take advantage of it. I can't wait to come back to try out that pool and visit again! 😊

Beds were comfortable, WiFi connection was strong, pool was great and it was quiet. Parking was a little tight late in the evenings and the breakfast could use some variety and some fruit. Hot shower - fulfilled all our requirements! We would stay again for sure.

When we got to the room I was shocked at how small and cramped it was. The tv, sink, frig, and table/chairs were literally crammed into one tiny corner of the room. It made the room look like a storage unit. There were 2 beds in a room that should have had just one. The bathroom was the width and length of only 2 bathtubs and that includes a bathtub that took up half the space. The toilet was loose from the floor. We appreciated how quiet it was and we liked that it was only a few minutes from Mt. Rushmore. Would only stay there again if nothing else was available in the area.

Well the place was closed, so I didn't get to stay there and possibly appreciate or dislike any of the amenities they might offer. The entire town shuts down for the winter, basically.
