A great place to visit during the Winter, much less people, still an awesome view. It is a bit of a walk to the water, paved however, and just take your time. There is a bench on the dock, and you can also just sit on the dock to have lunch. Recommend bringing something to explore the bay in. Bring a watercraft of some sort, or better yet dock a boat..

One of the best views in Lake Tahoe, with an wonderful hike to Vikingsholm. This year emerald bay is particularly green. The hike is one mile, easy down but a bit of an incline on the way back. Once down as lake level, take the Rubicon trail as it meanders along the lake with lovely views. There are nice picnic areas. Even if you don't picnic, be sure to bring water - there is no potable water from Oct to May.

Great day out, amazing view and walk down to the bay, easy paved walk down. You can swim in lake on a warm day, probably easiest to get here by car. Bring some cash if you want to hike down to the bay as they ask you for small fee for upkeep of the park.

The hike down is not bad, just coming up though I did need to take a few rests because it is somewhat of an incline. The hike is totally worth it when you get down to the lake. The water is crystal clear and there is a nice shallow part for those who just want to wade in the lake. When I went there I went paddle boarding, so that I could get to the little lookout house that is in the middle of the bay. It is the perfect place to paddle board. A paddle board for 2 hours is $35 or a double kayak is $55. There is also a single kayak to rent but I don't remember how much those are. Parking at the entrance is $10. Or if you park on the street it is free and you can just walk to there.

Wow the scenery is unbelievable, parking is very limited, but tourists don’t take more that 10 min visiting just drive around and wait for a spot.
