My honey and I had no conception of how close this place was to us, so we were so pleased when we made the trip across town to visit. The tour is absolutely worth your time and contribution. Everyone who works there is knowledgeable and kind as well. I will say that there is a very steep climb to get to the house itself - stairs if you're feeling froggy and a winding path if you aren't. Bring good shoes! And a camera, because the views are absolutely breath taking.

This was my favorite part of my vacation. The video I watched before hand was very informative and interesting. The ranger who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and also was able to answer all the questions I came up with even answered questions about how to become a ranger as a job. Overall if I visit again I will definitely be back.

Loved the guided tour. The gentleman who gave the tour really knew his stuff, and was interesting. The house and the items inside were quite impressive. The views of D.C. and Baltimore were amazing.

So inspiring!! Make sure you get there early enough!!! You watch a video in the welcome center first. Then the tour. It's free. Go do it.

I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. There was a short movie that gave a bit of background on Frederick Douglass that they played before the tour of his home. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and made the tour entertaining as well as informative. There's a gift shop and parking at the welcome center. Be sure to call and reserve a spot on the tour ahead of your visit.
