The museum is phenomenal. Amazing, well presented collection. People who work at the museum are super knowledgeable and are very helpful with questions. However the design of the building map is the worst. I was lost on the ground floor, trying to find Renaissance section, when Forrest, the gentleman who works on the ground floor of the main building, gave me the map annotated with his notes and highlights. Whoever is responsible for that map design should include his notes there, as they were hugely helpful to navigate the galleries. I spent 5 hours in the museum and it was the best experience ever. Without annotations on the map, it wouldn't be the same.

My favorite place. The one place I'm sure to go when in DC. Exceptional special exhibits to complement the outstanding permanent collection. What an amazing gift to the country. Good website, too. Helpful volunteers. You can get turned around and lost, but that may not be a bad thing. Good for a quick visit or for hours, even days.

This and the Met are the two best art museums in the country. The buildings and layout are gorgeous too. What's more, it's free! Well, unless you're a U.S. taxpayer, but then seldom are my substantial tax dollars put to better use. Enjoy! And below are a couple of many beautiful Titian's that caught my eye.

An amazing collection of art! And beautiful architecture. And its free! You can go look at a Monet everyday for free. I love art and brought my kids here when they were around 10. They still remember it. I go whenever I can. There is a great range of art classic to contemporary.

It’s hard not to love a gallery as expansive and accommodating as this one. I try to visit every weekend, for special movies and events especially. Also free tours that are offered are a tremendously helpful way to learn what’s inside. Highly passionate guides and the loveliest staff members.
