If you want a place to take your children and have a wonderful experience, this is your place. Free entry, plenty of awesome exhibits. I would highly recommend visiting the planetarium for an amazing 3-D experience of visiting the stars with complete narration! This exhibit does have a reasonable fee, but totally worth it. They also have simulator rides (fee associated)that your child will really enjoy. This by far, is my favorite within the Smithsonian's group of museums. 😊

Washington is full of museums, perhaps the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum is the greatest of them all. It reflects the might and the advancement of the American nation at the science level, especially space and aviation. The museum is very big and it needs easily 4 hours to tour it fast, but detailed inspection and maximum experience would require twice that time. There are full NASA space rockets displayed, military hardware, places, missiles, lunar rover and space equipment and original devices that were used in space exploration. Museums in DC and free of charge and a highly recommended place to visit. The souvenir shops offer affordable and elegant gifts.

As with all Smithsonian Museums, entry is free which is awesome. The only thing preventing 5 stars is the hours of operation. All buildings close at the same time which is pretty early. For visitors on a limited time schedule like from out of town. That lets you only visit maybe 2 buildings if you want to truly enjoy the exhibits. Also not enough sitting areas/ benches in common areas.

This museum is astonishing! Full of information and interesting material. I spent more than five hours in it and I didn't get bored. It's covers a wide variety of topics. You must visit it! And please take a ride on the simulators, they are way to fun to avoid them!

This is a great museum to visit whenever I'm in DC! It's free admission, the displays are neat and informative about America's past about aviation and the main gift shop is always a treat to visit. I wouldn't want to eat there because it only has McDonald's in its food court and the hot dog vendors are relatively more cheap compared to any they have to offer food-wise. If you like air and space like me than overall you'll have a blast when you come here!
