I got wonderful service here at a good price. And I even had a cheap bike; no attitude from the staff!

I've only been here once. Took my bike in to get my brakes fixed. I think the charge was minimal (~$20), but my brakes worked for about a day and then went back to not working. My partner took his bike here to get a tire changed, and they managed to break something within the drivetrain in the process, that then cost $150 to fix at a different mechanic. Based on these two experiences, it seems like the mechanics here are not highly skilled. 3 stars instead of 1 because from my experience at 3 other shops in Boulder, I haven't had the luck of finding any skilled bike mechanics in this town (terrible luck?), and the people @ Full Cycle were nice. Also, the location is central. Highly recommend that you just learn how to fix your own bike as much as possible if you live in Boulder. Maybe I'm just getting old and crotchety (because I'm sounding like [A Man Called] Ove), ... that is possible as well.

Long story but needs to be told. This is a terrible shop. I looked on their website for the bike I wanted, saw it was in stock at the location on the hill. Upon arroving, I waited for 15 minites for an employee to come up front to help. Sure enough their invetory was wrong and they couldn't find the bike. The employee menrions its actially in the back but unassembled and he'll take a deposit to assemble it and hold it for me. After giving him the deposit and all my info he double checks his inventort and calls the pearl st shop who has the bike in stock. I drive down and get the bike. The emoloyee at the pearl st location has no idea how to set up the bike for me and vaguely offers me a 15% discount on an accessory, no coupon, just on his word. I get the bike home to find out one of the parts on the bike (the seatpost) was broken yet they put it on the sales floor anyway. On top of that, the suspension is aired up to the max! Whoever assembled this bike did not know what they were doing, if I were to have ridden it I would have destroyed the suspension. Now I have to go back to the shop to have my brand new bike fixed. Come on guys this is basic stuff. Poor service like this is the reason you have to turn half of your shop into a coffee/beer bar. I'll never go back to this shop nor will I recommend it to anyone. They have wasted my time more than once. I wonder how many people have purchased incorrecrly set up or broken bikes from this shop and are too novice to know the difference.

Really great staff, not only did they tell me about trails but they were very friendly and made me feel welcome to the area. Everything a bike shop should be, a place to come ogle new parts, talk to the awesome staff and swap stories. The store had a great vibe when I walked in and felt like a real bike shop, what one should be: a fun place to be. In short, awesome atmosphere, great staff, and a large selection of bikes.

Sometimes I find myself there because I work on campus, and it is convenient. However, I always regret it. There are several reasons not to use this bicycle shop. 1) It is the most expensive shop in Boulder. It is almost double what other bike shops around town charge. 2) A couple of the people who work there are rude, and don't appreciate the customer's business. 3) They have crappy hours. Sometimes they randomly close in the day. There have been a couple times I have walked there from my office only to find a sign that reads, "Back in 45 minutes." They have a crappy business model, and I don't appreciate their prices or their service. Avoid if possible.
