I have Multiple Sclerosis and am preparing to ride the bike MS.  I applied for a free bicycle from a Dallas non-profit that funds bicycles for those with MS.  I know that the ladies from Meat Fight (the non-profit) called many stores that would be willing to work with me.  A few said no, but Performance Bicycles in Boulder said yes!  They have a huge store with tons of bikes and clothing/ accessories.  I know nothing about rode bikes so this was all new to me.  Ryan, the assistance manager, assisted me through the process.  He was great and didn't seem to mind that I am a newbie!  He also taught me some basic bike riding tips. 

Thank you to both Ryan and Justin for working with me to get my new bike.  I am sure Performance doesn't do this unusual request often.  I know they had to do a little work with the non-profit to make this happen---so thank you Performance Bicycles for going out of your way to assist me!

Great people make for a great shop, if you're a novice needing to know the right chain lube it an expert needing the skinny on the next big trend, there's always an ear to be bent here

Good in store service.  Corporate policy sucks.

Don't fall for the membership scam.  Points expire after 90 days.  Wrong!  They will expire before that due to bugs in the POS system (admitted by their Support), and corporate support is not willing to help.  I lost $30 in credit due to their bug, and they are not able to credit me back.

Not one star because they open at 9am on Sat for pre-ride parts, but tech service is bad. Brought my bike in for a simple derailleur adjustment after a cable install. Guy didn't really pay attention, left the derailleur clutch off and told me i needed new cable housing. Messed with the limit settings even though they were perfect and didn't do anything with the cable tension. Came out worse than it started. I took it home and used a how to video on Pinkbike to adjust it myself. Didn't need the service, just trying to save some time on the way out of town for a ride. More interested in selling you parts than adjusting working ones. I'll buy parts here as a last resort, but never bringing my bike in for service again

Love performance!
Had a really weird experience at this one, though.
Salesperson did not like me ringing the bell that I was considering buying. He said I was being rude.
I genuinely wanted to buy the bell for my college student.
Luckily the other two people I worked with in the store were great.
