I have had very poor service here on a regular basis. This chain is going out of business. Everything in the store is 40 percent or more off the original price. Sporting goods, camping, fishing, hunting, and lots of active wear for men, women, and children.

I purchased a marine radio on sale and found it was cracked, I went to exchange but they did not have the same unit. They did have another unit for the same "original" price but the manager on duty would not work to find another discount code or assist me to come up with a way to get the same deal on a new one. The manager seemed to have an attitude about him the whole time that made me feel I was inconveniencing him. Gander Mtn. lost additional sales because I now have walked out without buying additional items which I was planning on. I am very disappointed, as I worked in retail for a long time and it was always our goal to assist the customer as much as possible with minimal expense to the company. A small discount would have made me happy and I would have spent more money.

I went in to purchase a firearm. After a short wait, I was helped by a gentleman. When he found out my budget, he seemed inpatient as there were a few other customers waiting. I informed him he would probably be with me for a while, as I had just received a Gander Mountain credit card and wanted to check some stuff out. I noticed other customers were waiting. I informed him if he wanted to help another person I would still be looking and he could come back in a few minutes. An hour later, he hadn't come back. I requested assistance and was was informed I'd have to take another number and wait. After another 30 minutes I had to leave to get my son from school without a purchase. I felt almost as if I were an inconvenience.

I was completely turned off by the firearms department at Field & Stream. Thankfully, someone recommended this place and I definitely agree. I went to look at the same firearms I was considering at F&S. They were also packed, but acknowledged me and apologized for the long wait. While I browsed around their shop, multiple staff were walking the floor offering assistance. I had questions about a case, so I was able to sort that out while I waited. Their triage system worked very well to handle the rush, and I felt like a valued customer, instead of an inconvenience. It might not have the decor or ambiance of F&S but the people and products in the building are top-notch.

I asked the guy behind the counter for exactly what I wanted, he gave me the wrong thing. I realized once I got in the car, went right back in and he refused to exchange or return it. He was incredibly rude and condescending both times I went in. I will never come back to this store if they employ people like that when there are so many other options around
