The Gannon Funeral Home was recommended to me by a family member when my husband passed away. I found them to be extremely knowledgeable and accommodating . Steve arranged the transportation and cremation, obtained the death certificates and helped me plan a personalized memorial service with a terrific minister, Rev. David Lothrup. Everything went smoothly. On the following day, Steve personally helped me with the flowers that were received; giving some away to a church across the street and with “downsizing” another arrangement for me to bring home. They also let me keep my husband’s ashes on their premises while I worked out the logistics for their final resting place. All in all, they made doing the things that needed to be done much easier during a difficult time and I highly recommend them.

I feel fortunate that it was the extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, solicitous funeral directors of GANNON FUNERAL HOME that handled my elderly mother's arrangements this summer. My initial contact with Gannon was a phone call - - at which time I spoke to STEVE - - to inform the staff that I had designated Gannon as the funeral home for my gravely ill mother, who was then at the in-home hospice stage. Gannon's caring was immediately apparent; I felt completed assured that, when my mother's time came, all would be handled with the utmost efficiency and understanding. Then, upon meeting Steve in person, my positive first impression was immediately confirmed. I let him know that the last three years of almost 24/7 live-in caregiving my infirmed mother had left me depleted: emotionally, physically, and pretty much financially as well. There would be only direct cremation, followed by interment of Mom's ashes at the Veteran's Cemetery, next to my long-deceased beloved father. Steve provided me with as much unrushed time and invaluable guidance as if I were arranging the costliest, grandest of funerals. On the morning of the interment it was Funeral Director TOM ("Tommy") who was on reception duty. Like Steve, Tommy is lovely - - kind, supportive and so helpful to me and my small family on that sad, stressful day. (Ditto for the wonderful service provided to us by our limo driver-cum-cemetery ceremony escort Teddy.) I would like to also add that Gannon's rates are extremely reasonable. Plus they deal with the financial arrangements with the bereaved client in a way that is both classy and respectful, so refreshingly NOT business-as-usual. I feel very reassured and comforted in the knowledge that my mother was shepherded on her final passage by the caring professionals at Gannon Funeral Home.

I lost my mother in October, they handled everything well. While it is not important to me, we are Jewish and they are not. They had the knowledge to guide us. We had looked at 2 other places, one corporate and one family owned but they seemed pricey. The fact that they are in the neighborhood and were close to us also made a difference. While I wouldn’t want to say I would use them again, I will let people know that they were knowledgeable and professional and we were satisfied.

I recently lost my grandmother and used Gannon Funeral Home for her services. They were extremely helpful at this time, I have never had to plan a funeral before and had no idea what to do or where to start. I walked in and met with Steve who was full of knowledge, that if he wasnt as sincere as he was i couldve been alot more confused. The day of services went smooth and she looked amazing (which I was fearful of). On the day of burial I also met a man by the name of Tom who was a pleasure throughtout the long day. At this difficult and sad time in my life I truly appreciate that I walked into their funeral home.

They took care of everything and it went very well. They do take advantage of your state so...... buyer be ware!!. If you sign a prepaid ask about the "cash account". The contract shows 3000 in the cash account and they claimed it had 300 at the wake with no accounting of how the funds were spent!. They said it was "variability in price". My Mom had a deed and a plot already!!. They wanted me to sign a second contract at the wake and never gave me a copy of what I signed. The church canter is arranged thru them and they are not forthcoming about the prices. I asked the church personnel and they told me the charges. They also sold me a mega funeral and I know that I would have scaled down since my Mom had only a handful of friends. I would never go to this place, but since my mom wanted it- I continued. I know I overpaid, I was just to sad to argue. It is just my sister and I and I wish we had someone to speak for us since we were both so sad.
