Beautiful venue. Service is very good. Food is variable. The Jumbo Shrimp and Crab is perfect. $15 for three but worth it! On the other hand, the crabcake is average. The Gumbo is good.

Anyone that’s given this restaurant a negative review is just that...Negative. We had a great experience. The hospitality here is very good. Our server Joseph was very responsive, courteous and knowledgeable. The location is excellent inside the museum as well. Highly recommend this restaurant as a place to visit. Great dessert with the apple crisp we ordered too.

It was my moms birthday and a friend recommended this place for brunch. It in the right wing of the Baltimore museum of Art. There is a tent attached to the main permanent building where we were seated. The tent looks a bit worn out and not the cleanest. The service was nice, the waitress was attentive and friendly, however, I asked a salad as a side instead of roasted potatoes but I was brought roasted potatoes. I asked for French toast as a dessert and a birthday “cake” for my mom. The French toast was brought at the same time as the main course. The food was not what we expected. It was more like a diner food, not a fine restaurant. Portions huge and almost cold, mom liked grilled chicken, my crab omelet was ok, stuffed French toast was the worst I’ve ever tried. The stuffing was too liquid and the toast was overcooked and was swimming in some liquid which was like a watery syrup. We will definitely not be back and I wouldn’t recommend this place.

Settled in for my usual Tuesday night dinner after work at Gertrudes. The bread was old so I didn't eat. The crab cake was good .The total check was $15.90. I gave a $4 tip for a total of $19.90. The check was changed to reflect a $4.50 tip . I promptly reported it to management the next morning. She was defensive and said she's sure it was a mistake. Beware when you dine at Gertrude's Especially when you pay with a credit card .

Gertrude's...what a disappointment! For years I have always wanted to try this restaurant because it is known for excellent Maryland seafood. So naturally I and my friend both ordered the signature dish, the Crab cake. It was one of the worse crab cakes I have ever eaten. It was FULL of filler, no lump crab at all!!! Our waiter was embarrassed and confirmed that the crab cake was full of filler. Gertrude, stop sliding on your (undeserved) reputation.
