The visitors center is clean, spacious, and well-kept. Staff are passionate, knowledgeable and friendly. There are museum exhibits and an informational film inside, with a self- guided automobile tour outside. You can purchase an audio narration for the auto tour, or you can simply get a map and drive the route for free. They suggest allowing three hours for the driving tour, but you may need even more than that if you expect to get out at every stop (there are 16) and read the plaques or explore a bit. Also, notice that there are a number of locations marked on the battlefield map (such as the historic Devil's Den) that are not part of the official auto tour route. If any additional locations are of interest to you, it's not hard to leave the main tour route to see them, and they often contain additional information plaques and fascinating vantage points.

Never been here before so I was really excited when my wife wanted to stop here. We love history and had the best time going through the exhibit inside. So much to see and watching the little movies gave some great insight. Gift shop was awesome, the whole town of Gettysburg was fun to drive through. We will be going back to do the car or bus tour.

I love Civil War History. This the the 1st time I have visited this Battlefield site. It was amazing! Lots of information and the town was so cute. We want to go back and spend about a week seeing everything, as we only had a couple of hours this visit. There seems to be a few RV parks around, so we won't have trouble finding a place to stay.

Very neat and educational place. Does a great job of relating the conditions and events of the civil war battle at Gettysburg. Highly recommend both the museum and the self guided battlefield driving tour. The site is extremely well preserved.

One of the best and most interesting trips I’ve ever taken my son to. We traveled with my sons boy scouts troop and it was probably one of the best experiences to date for both adults and kids! Highly recommend.
