We visited the trail on 11/23/16. Right of the bat the park gate was closed and we thought that the trail was not accesible. Since the entrance didn't have a sign and was not kept well we almost left. Fortunately we found another entrance and we were able to ride the trails on a MTB and on a CX bike. The trail is not particularly technical. It has about three rocky drops and some sections were the rocks were pretty sharp and rough. There is a rocky spot that is scenic and has a good view of Canyon Lake. The trail seem like it would be a great route for horseback riding!

Great trail! You can hike, bike, run, or horse ride on this trail. BYOH (bring your own horse). About 3.6 miles one way and over 7 miles round trip.
