Awesome place to hold quilt retreats, sew days, and other group organizations. Great staff and Rangers are amazing and always helpful. Improvements and upgrades in lighting, tables, new carpeting, and windows for the sewing room have made our retreat times more enjoyable! Love the walking trails, no matter the seasons.

This was a small but enjoyable state park. We went on a Sunday afternoon - the gates were open and we were certainly welcome there. The hours listed at the front gate and on Google are for the convention center. The pond is breast described as quaint, and the trails are enjoyable, but admittedly easy. The size of the Haw River from the end of the boardwalk was surprising to me - I guess I expected something wider! But all in all, a really neat place to visit.

Really nice conference facility. The rooms for guests are quite nice. The staff are outstanding. It was very cold so I didn't hit the trails much but what I saw was very well set up. Theres a small lake/big pond, with canoes available during proper weather for that. Best part: wonderful staff from top to bottom.

Came with a group of students for a class field trip. Guides knew what they were talking about and related well to the high school freshmen. I'd recommend more for education groups and not so much for individual visits.

The park office worker who gave us our state parks stamp was super helpful and nice. The park has space for 180 people to sleep at in their cabins. Great place for family functions or to go for a nice walk around the lake. The park also offers disc golf.
