This is a great campground to stay at. We brought our dogs and stayed in our tent. The bathrooms were very clean. There were plenty of trails ranging from easy- strenuous. There were beautiful Dens and waterfalls to hike to also! There's a beach, fishing area & nature trail. The campsite had a nice flat designated area of packed sand/dirt for the tent. We will definitely be returning!

Had a great camping visit here over Easter break. It was our first time here and had it not been expecting to rain a few days, we’d have stayed longer. Will definitely be back. Campground hosts were very helpful and the place was neat and clean. We did one hike with Our 5 year old daughter to the upper falls, I think. Thank you NC State Parks for keeping up your facilities.

Great day with the family! We hiked up to the main lookout (Hanging Rock trail) with four young kids. It was vigorous but just the right length (2.6 miles round trip). The rain chased us down but cleared up for a great picnic by the lake. The trail was a bit crowded but friendly, the facilities were all clean and uncrowded. The nature center had a great set of animals and facts for the kids.

I love hanging rock state park! The waterfalls are beautiful and the view from the top of hanging rock is just spectacular! The trails are well kept and there is plenty of parking. If you can come during the week as it can get pretty crowded on the weekends.

Great visit. This was our first time. Cabin was warm but the floors could have been cleaner. The hiking trails were great. Loved the beautiful falls. Our park ranger was friendly and helpful. The wildlife presentation was excellent at the Visitor's Center. A pay phone at the Visitor's Center would be nice for late check-ins. It would have been difficult after dark.
